He doesn't actually have to improve. All he has to do is deliver what he's already shown he's capable of more consistently and you've got an England international player there.

| were only going on what is said in a public interview, we have no idea what is said to players behind closed doors, he could be telling the likes of your houghtons, briscoes, and yeaman that there part of the FC future so what he says doesnt apply to them. thats been said i think its great how much passion he has for the club.
As for people not rating jay pitts, Gentle said that his forwards need to compliment each other, pitts is caple of doing things that neither watts or lynch can do so i can see him getting a place in the 17 against some teams but then been taken out when the game plan changes

| Saints, leeds bradford and wigan have all won grand finals, but with teams were built over time. One thing they had in common was a fair share of homegrown players in key positions.
Pearson seems to be very much from the ''sign as many top players in the key positions within the salary cap as we can'' school. This strategy does not bring long term success. It doesn't always bring success.
Leeds did something similiar at the start of super league. They basically signed up an entire team in 97 and won the CC in 99........It was then 8 years later before they had a team consistently successful.
By all means buy into everything 'the messiah' pearson says, but don't be naive enough to think it's going to guarantee much success happiness and giggles, because it dosn't work like that.

I suggest before you comment you know what you are taking about, Pearson has spoken many times about the importance of the youth system.
The first thing he did when he took over was sort out the youth structure at the club.
I love all the hate from Leeds fans for our ambitious owner.

You clearly have selected hearing and you have obviously failed to hear Pearsons numerous comments and references to our youth structure since he has taken over the club, he is very clear about how poor it was and he is investing and addressing this area.

Rovers are certainly sh*t but we have a squad that is completely uninterested and demotivated.
Unfortunately, most of the quality that we do have is stuck in the treatment room.
I can't see past a very easy rovers win and a pretty embarrassing night to forget.

Someone else who's not been paying attention to what AP actually says.

Actually, pearson has continually said that our yout development isn't good enough and has invested a significant sum into improving it. He has also said that we need to fill the gap with some quality younger players until the investment strts to bear fruit.
Did finch, leuluia, lima etc come through wigan's youth set up?

Its not all about the embargo on out of contract players if a player in contract next year is signed for a fee they could announce it when the deal is done but they won't I don't think because I think they are saving it all for the release of season tickets which is lets face it good marketing! I can't see us finding much out at all until then!

Somes up your rugby knowledge if you think gelling came through the academy.
You are making yourself look stupid now.
We have given debuts to a few local lads this year, but we are behind a few clubs thanks to the previous owners.

The same Gelling that is from the Cook Islands and that you signed in December, after he had previously played for Sydney Roosters and been sacked by them? Interesting to hear that he came through your academy......
