Fans always react like that initially when something happens to an opposition player, however when they realise that it's serious they usually calm down. Lovegrove was applauded from the field by the entire stadium.

| Great performance from Hull today, but I've been saying for the last couple of days on your forum, that when you have players like Lynch, Manu, Tickle and Houghton who all can do 80 minutes, its a massive help to a coach, it makes your interchanges so much easier. Most coaches would give there right arm for players like that.
I also thought Whiting was very good for you today, good hits, good offloads and put a lot of pressure on dobson when kicking.
Radford was average

Average is something your forwards could only dream of

I think he's wrong, looked strongly like the point of the ball had room to be grounded on the other side of McDonnell's hand, so benefit of the doubt the right call IMO. The Sky studio also thought it was fine.
Whilst on the subject of tries and the video ref, I think it was a joke that Silverwood didn't make the decisions himself for both Radford's try and Turner's first. He was about 5 yards away both times and had a great view. If he doesn't think he can make those calls when perfectly positioned he should hand his whistle in.

Exactly. I didn't initially realise it was a head clash so was one of those with the ironic cheers. At first I thought Welham had simply swung into a big hit from Lovegrove. After I saw the replay I realised it was serious.

| Funny thing today when we were 14-6 up I looked at the clock, there were 22 minutes left, and I though 'I wish it was full time now'. Would only have missed 4 tries. Happy days

| What was great today for me today, was at 14-6 up I knew we would win.
Normally in our Derby games, one team takes a lead and the other claws back and then its game on. However, something's changed with Hull. We just look more composed, very solid in defence and play more up field. We have so much more go forward and our support play is impressive. No longer do we force passes or try and score on every play. Our kicking game was so much better today. After the first Horne kick, that did go staright down the Full Back's throat, we kicked and made the ball bouce. The kick to Hall that led to him being forced into touch was novel and in the second hald we forced three drops outs. All basic rugby stuff, but all the things that lead to pressure and things other successful teams have done e.g. Bradford and Saints at their best a few years ago.
There was a spell during he second half when we just drove forward and kicked for position to drive Rovers back. It was very effective. Then in the last 20, we had the mobility and confidence to open up. Yeamo's try was a joy and one of the best we've had at the KC.
It's still early days. We still have to complete the opening round of 13 fixturesa nd the next few weeks will be tough. However, we have improved and the league table looked so good this afternoon.
Well played today lads and well done Peter Gentle.
This was the best Good Friday since 1984 and I'm confident we have more good days ahead of us.
