Mike White/Radio Humberside has just tweeted they expect the new coach to be Gentle. I asked if it was official, he said no, but they wouldn't go with the story unless they where sure about it.

I am confident in my job, and am able to work autonomously for 95% of my time. I dare say that 90% of the things I do day to day, my boss could not do as effectively as I could. But I appreciate having a manager who knows the job, whom I can go to for advice, bounce ideas off, review work I have done and provide appropriate constructive feedback, and liaise with Senior Management when the situation is deemed necessary.

I fail to see why this shouldn’t be the case in any other aspect of work, including Rugby League.

So if thats the case what input did mcrae have as he's supposed to be over seeing the recruitment process for the new head coach?.

Maybe its all been set up for a while and they're just letting things fall into place from today?

Very happy, means a renewal of at least 6 passes for us, I would like to say thanks to agar for the effort but it hasn't worked out for whatever reason, I said from the start Daniel Anderson would be my first choice, but would be very happy with Gentle.

Have you ever thought about the recent news, of mcCrae's health on BBC etc and the media, may have been a smoke screen to take the scent off the move to Hull F.C?

I reckon it was, he may have health issues, but they may not be as bad as he said to get away from the Salford City Reds, if they was problems with the board at Salford, he may have used his health as an excuse also, and keeping his pride, and also respect intact.

Can't believe we are looking to appoint Gentle, only assistant coach to one of the best teams in the NRL and Australia who has worked along side one of the best coaches in the world.

Look at badly Wigan have done since they appointed an NRL assistant.

Gald Agar has gone, tried his best and put 100% into his job, but it just wasn't good enough, good luck at Wakey.

If he has done what you're suggesting, which he hasn't, he'd lose all (or most I would imagine) respect people had for him. And rightly so, I doubt very much he has lied about such a serious illness. You should think before you type.

Possibly, would be very happy with gentle and when it looked like he was of to Rovers I was a bit gutted, but this does seem a bit odd because it would seem the recruitment for a new coach started as soon as AP took over, even though he stated nothing would be decided until he had completed a root to branch review of the club.
