maybe you will know, has he actually had multiple different injuries or just the one that various specialists have struggled to diagnose, which is now, apparently, sorted?

| I don't understand the pessimism on here. We badly need props for 2012 and there are very few available.
When they do become available, their value increases to stupid levels because of the inevitable bun fights that ensue (read LMS etc.).
We look like we have signed one of the very best in SL and we have managed to pick up a very promising young prop from Wigan (albeit with a bad injury behind him) and if that's not good enough, they are both British and probably haven't broke the bank either.
Welcome to Hull FC Eamonn ! Let's hope that it turns out to be a great signing for many years to come.
And bring on Andy Lynch !!

| Always a risk signing a player with an injury record but at 24 he is young enough to overcome previous injuries without them recurring. Like many have said British props are at a premium and it could turn out to be a good bit of business from the club. Only time will tell.

| Quote: Marfa Manu "Decent enough player before his injury problems, not decent enough to throw a 3 yr deal at though especially with his injury record.
1 yr would have been better imo, see how he goes and leave yourself with options for what becomes available on the market.'"
Now whilst I can see the reasons for concern over a 3 year deal, I don't see that his signing has significantly affected our options at prop in next year's recruitment. We have 3 all out of contract then, there's already going to be plenty of room for flexibility. If anything the one thing our prop contract situation lacked was the complete opposite, we're crying out to add some stability over the coming seasons.

| Pleased with this signing, he is a very talented young player who was doing very well at Wigan before he got injured. He will effectively be our 5th choice prop once Lynch arrives and I think our mix of props is excellent for next season.
The fact is that he can't be too bas a risk as Wigan offered him a new contract so they obviously still have high hopes for him.
Starting - Ogre/Lynch
Bench - Moa/Radford
Backup - O'Carroll

| The little engine that could. Never gives less than 110% effort and rarely takes a backward step, will be sad to see him go.

There is a risk due to his long lay off and if we were signing him as one of our starting props I might think differently but as a 5th prop I am happy with it.

| If you go on the Wigan board you will see that most of them would rather have O'Carroll than Lauaki.
Potentially a good signing IMO. My only concern is his injury record. I hope he had a thorough medical - preferably not by the same guy who examined Jimmy Bullard!

| I think some on here need to realise there is a difference between a player who has had a long term injury and a player who is injury prone. Rich Whiting was out with two injuries for nearly as long as O'Carroll and he turned out alright.

So its not a 'shocking' signing anymore then?

| Wonder who made this signing then & the reported signing of Lynch.
And also should we be looking for another prop now that Agar is going since it was rumoured that O'meley would be leaving if Agar did.

| We now know why there was on mention of Agar's inspirational speech to bring him to the club... Cause he's going!
