We may well find out soon...
To varying degrees lots of head coaches on both sides of the world are yes men to some extent.

| Without trawling through 9 pages of this topic, the answer to it is as simply as " we are S**T".
We are in the same predicament as wire with Lowes and the sooner something changes the better, Agar and co can put as much spin on the current situation but the fact remains that we are miles away from were a club like ours should be.
I don't expect to win every game (would be nice) but what i do expect is a coach who can change things that are obviously a problem, the only consistent bit of our team is that we consistently make the same fundamental errors week in week out with no change, to name a few -
No support play (grates me no end)
P1ss poor kicking game
Clueless inside opp 20 m
Poor passing and not spreading the ball ( we pass the ball more when the players decide who is going to kick to touch from a penalty)
If we do any training its pretty obvious that it doesn't cover these areas.
The tip of the balance imo is that we won alot of close games last year when we probably shouldn't of done which probably painted over the cracks whereas this years performances were we aren't getting the close wins probably reflects that we haven't progressed.

Something similar could be engineered at Hull, surely, to keep everyone happy?'"
How long did that last though? History says you can't bring someone in above the head coach and keep everyone happy, the two things tend to be mutually exclusive.
I personally agree with those who say it should be a clean sweep of the coaching staff this time. We've tried keeping continuity with the backroom staff and so far it would appear to not be working, not to mention that they've obviously been learning from substandard coaches anyway. Bring in a completely brand new coaching staff at first team level at least.

I know this. Not sure or really care if it lasts - as far as I'm concerned it's a short to medium term solution to get us out of the rut, with everyone saving face. We all know the new bloke would be running the show. Not too bothered what happens 8 months down the line with Agar - if he makes himself invaluable, great. If not, well...

Fair enough, but I'm not quite sure why we need to bother trying to appease Agar or save face. He's been given ample support and opportunity, he can have absolutely no complaints if he's given the bullet IMO. I also don't understand the train of thought that sacking a coach is like admitting you're wrong, so the board don't want to do it. No coach lasts forever, there's no point holding on when it's obvious to all that we've reached the end of the line.

Extremes that I've never heard anyone but you use. That doesn't illustrate a point, it undermines it.
Quote: WormInHand "There is no doubt, though, that reaction when Nobles name was first mentioned a couple on months ago was less than lukewarm. It isn't now.'"
If there is no doubt, I'd imagine you'll be able to find loads of posts where that is the case. From what I remember, most people thought that he'd be a good choice for two or three years, with the odd dissenting voice.
Quote: WormInHand "From what I see we agree on our views of Noble, his achievements over the last few years and what he can offer us. No animosity needed then.'"
Apart from the fact that you think he's 'average to good' and I think he's 'very good', I suppose we might agree. And there's never been any animosity, merely a robust response to a post I thought was rather silly.

I don't think there is any question of appeasing Agar at all. It is more about a realisation of Agar's value and his role in the club. I have no doubt about Agar's technical abilities and if the club and more importantly, Agar himself can realise and accept his abilities and his weaknesses, then there would be no reason to let him go.
If he feels he cannot work to those conditions or a new coach feels he's the wrong man for the job, then Agar should be given every encouragement to find alternative employment.
But knowing our lot, they'll throw the baby out with the bath water

Why????? We can't pass ,can't kick , are a disorganised rabble when it comes to last tackle plays , don't support the man with the ball , have tries scored against us before we wake up/just before half time, have a number of youngsters that come through and look like rabbits in the headlights , have been unable to persuade/inspire/educate certain players to be professional , etc etc etc . What exactly are Agars undoubted technical abilities that I constantly hear about??????? Is it something to do with IT? It certainly isn't "us" communication skills.

Seen a fair good whack of the highlights too, did you see the attempted tackles by Houghton and Lauaki for one of the tries in the second half, came off a lost ball from you guys. Was nearly as bad as Cook and Co's attempt on Hoffman on Fri
