| Quote: PAUL M "Westerman wasn't available but we got him in the end, you have to aim high.
Delighted with the Phelps signing. He was excellent at wigan and was particularly good at fullback so I think he will be a like for like replacement for Tansey. He was underrated during his time at Wigan but SL fans but Wigan fans will tell you how good he was for them.
Also he can cover centre, wing and the halves. His best asset is linking into the line and also his distribution plus he plays with bundles of enthusiasm.'"
Agree with all of that, but he's just a little suspect under the high ball. Fantastic at coming into the line and delivering the final pass, but isn't the sort of running fullback like Tomkins or Roberts. Definately a decent player though, suprised its taken this long to get a club.

| Quote: Sebasteeno "So weve spent the last two months chasing a player who was never coming only to panic in the last few days and sign Phelps who will miss teh start of the season and probably be unfit too - wtf is wrong with this club, it could of signed this bloke two months ago and had no problems with visas and he could of been training and settled with his new team mates. Bet we now go after moore too to complete the shambles that is Hull FC'"
2 months ago we didn't need him as Tansey was our fullback. Not a difficult concept even for you surely ?

If the deal has fallen through at the last minute, he obviously WAS available.

Who says the deal was on though as the chairman and coach of Crusaders plus the player himself didnt seem to think so but only the 'in the know' crowd on here? Obviously they must be right though.

You've said you don't rate Rule in the past. Not up to the job at a big club or summat like that. Got the after-game sit-in roster ready for this season ?

I really don't believe that, I believe Hull were interested in him, but what would Crusaders gained from selling him? and if it was agreed why would it have suddenly fell through?

| Phelps can basically play any position from 1 to 7 and also does a good job at hooker too.
He's a clever signing IMO. Im surprised its took him so long to find a club.
If it wasnt for S.Tomkins, Amos Roberts, Pat Richards & Darrell Goulding at Wigan he would still be here. Who can compete with that though? Also id say if he was English he would still be at Wigan.

| who is in charge of getting the players highlighted at Hull. I thought the job of the coach was to highlight players they want and convince them when they have permission to speak. Surely when a fee is involved it is the boards who is responsible if you cannot gain permission to speak to the player. Hardly Agars fault

| Win win situation for us as he is a better player than Tansey anyway.
