Why would I need to do that pal? I was discussing the idea that not having a proper head coach might hamper our recruitment and possible mean we pay more for players than clubs who offer a greater chance of success?

Since you dint wanna discuss my assessment of our head coach I have to assume you can't contradict it, fair play for being positive though!

We have a starting coach for the season so he'll get my support.

If he's as inept as you believe I'm sure there's every possibility we'll have a new one by the start of 2012.

Thats a good attitude, I hope Agar is successful this year cos I don't want a wasted year. Just worries me that Rule has already shown he's happy to reward failure like he did with Agar's new contract in April..

Fair enough, and I agree that he should be given a chance there. I just don't share your certainty that he'll do as well at centre, and certainly not this season.

A step up in class can sometimes mean a slight change of position (at least for a while) to get the best from players. Briscoe's one on one strength is a huge asset up against other wingers, but maybe not so much against bigger players in the centres (and likely additional tacklers too). Blasting through was also another way he looked good in the juniors at centre, but it is a much different proposition for him now. Being directly up against the likes of Darrell Goulding, Kallum Watkins, Jodie Broughton, (centres in junior rugby, still mainly wingers so far at first team level) is a whole different ball game outmuscling bigger blokes like Keith Senior and Martin Gleeson. I think centre should still be in his future but not yet.

Maybe he'll get a game there pre-season? Would be a good opportunity.

You do realise that Rule isn't the sole arbiter of who our head coach is, don't you? Quite possibly not even the main one? Blaming the decision of a BOD on one man is ignoring how things actually work.

I think he should play both in the centres, one on the left, one on the right. We know exactly what he can, and will probably continue to, do on the wing. Having a look at what else he can do is exactly what friendlies should be used for.
