I agree, that's what the full team is missing more players with attacking flare.

Because, although we have a competitive squad, we are clearly a fair way behind the top two or three in terms of quality. Signing players like Dowes is not going to close the gap when they are signing top SOO and Aussie test players.

without half backs its a darned miracle we got where we are which shows the class this squad really do have!!
we have plugged a hole on the wing already with a class act in young sharp and the couple coming in will plug other gaps , add that to horne and long playing more of a season than this year and we are up there with the top three..
dont underestimate this squad there is a lot of quality players in that squad and some hard grafters too, i just dont see how any team with the likes of Omeley, Fitzgibbon, long, Horne, Yeaman, manu, Tickle, Berrigan,Moa, Calderwood, whiting, could be called that far off the mark... again we have been without halves all season and that is all we have missed...
we will make old trafford have faith !!!

We've got Houghton and Berrigan. Why would we move a player playing so well at FB to back up Hooker? Why would we bring in another FB when we have cover for Tansey with Whiting and Horne?

Dowes is an absolute work horse, which often goes unnoticed. I'd be happy if he stayed.

Because the club can't seem to sign any of it's proposed targets so are havin to re-sign those players that were deemed surplus to requirements several weeks back.

I can only agree with this to the extent that he [iis[/i the perfect bench player. But I think it's doing him a huge disservice to expect him to play that role indefinitely. In my view, his performances to date have earned him the right to at least be given the opportunity to make a position his own.

I certainly wouldn't. Would he get into Saints team? Or Leeds'? The fact Bradford fans didn't want he despite their abysmal season sums it all up.

I do hope this isn't the case. We've signed Sharp and Lyne is looking quite competent at the moment. There's also a rumour that Calderwood has been offered a new deal. We have enough cover for the 3/4s and should only sign another one if someone really special becomes available. If we've conveniently forgotten Hall's numerous poor performances on the back of two good ones, I'll be very disappointed.
