Radford fully deserves the reconition of club captaincy.
Good decision with Long though, think they'll have Fitz if Long is not available.
How good is it to finally have some real leadership choices? |

Fitz was the obvious choice, great leader, total professional, exemplary record, respected by everyone in the game. I just hope this isn't a case of Agar picking favourites. Longy's been making all the right noises where Agar is concerned and Agar will want be be assured that his captain is behind him 100% and will back him if things don't go according to plan. Or is that just me being paranoid on a Monday morning?

have faith in agar  longy will prove a great buy and im sure he will prove a great choice as our captain.thats my opinion of course  |

One factor that may have swung it in Longs favour is that he is contracted for two years whereas Fitz only has one year as yet confirmed IIRC.

I’m happy enough with the decision, and as someone has already mentioned, it is great to finally be able to have a genuine choice of players who would be worthy of being captain.
It wouldn’t surprise me if this decision was made during the initial contract discussions with Agar dangling the captaincy to Long if he signed, if so a pretty smart move imo. Long has nothing to prove as a player, but is relatively unproven as an official captain, so this move is an indication to me that Long is not here just for the money and still wants to prove himself.
Roll on the new season.
