| Very happy with that.
Hodgson's wishes of the team enjoying playing seemed to work, seemed a lot more relaxed.
Defensively we looked better as does our line speed at last.
Reynolds was class but thought Sneyd definitely had one of his better games.

Lane and Cator two real workhorses
I guess Lanes workrate is what Hodgson has been impressed by and why he is in the team

| I thought Sneyd looked a different player having Reynolds alongside side him as opposed to Kelly. It’s as though he had a little bit a freedom in his game rather than being more reserved also nice to see him take the line a little more too.

| Be interested to see how many metres Savellio did. I thought he had a terrific game.

Sneyds always class in a good team performance, I wouldn’t swap him for any other 7 in the comp

Good first round performance and such a difference in the little details and structure from previous years. Still work to do but pleasing start.
On a side note I certainly don’t see Jones leaving us as a loss at all, with his performance today.'"
He is still suffering from travel sickness Chris

not sure it was a drop off why they scored two tries.
for me a lack of concentration in a game the team knew they had won.
Think the team will be disappointed with that but pleased with the win against a decent team.
Lots of encouraging signs.

All men are created equal, some work harder in preseason.

His good performances were always few and far between previously but today he showed up well and him and JH compliment each other.
Sneyd took the line on today more than he has previously done and yet still had the ability to sit back and direct the game when needed.
I think we need that level of consistency from him now but he definitely played well.
Much happier with us defensively too and out attacking shape whilst not perfect still looked better.

| noticed a lot of little changes today that made a huge difference, both in attack and defence, it looks like Hodgsons got an eye for detail and we look a lot better for it. Really pleasing to see us a lot more organised, rather than playing off the cuff, you could see the structure. We played with a lot more common sense too which was good to see.
My only gripe was the discipline. Was Hicks terrible or do we need to stop mucking around after the tackle, which is something we were guilty of last year, I counted about 6 set restarts against us, I think if that's against Wigan or Saints we get punished with points. so much improved in defence and attack but still work to be done with game discipline for me. Cut the silly set restarts out and I think we l be a tough nut to crack.
Good performances across the park, can't really pick any negatives individually, and don't want too after that.
I think we go again with the same line up barring any injurys, I reckon Bowden will be fine, and what did Carlos go off with anyone know?

Hicks was OK for me
Its our own indiscipline

| All preseason Hodgson talked about how the effort areas of the game is what he’s placed a lot of emphasis on and it really showed today.
Things like the kick chase, kick pressure and getting numbers into the tackle aren’t the most glamorous part of the game but they make a huge difference.
Thought Lane was superb today, he played massive minutes and got through a ton of high quality work, in particular the tackle where he caught Cudjoe and forced a drop out.
I liked the way we didn’t play with split halves in the attacking 20 anymore too. The Griffin try was really well worked with Sneyd and Reynolds getting the ball to Connor fast and giving him a 3 on 2 situation which he proved last season he is so good at as he straightens up the play and can pick the right pass
