In that case there are only two possible conclusions...

1. We're doing the wrong drills.
2. Hall and Briscoe are as stupid as stumps.

we have to be more careful with him IMO.

But my point is that they're obviously doing something wrong as it's not getting across to the players in question.

Would you not agree that neither Hall nor Briscoe have shown any improvement in their defensive decision-making and positional play over the last 2 years? That really should not be the case.

Absolutely boiling and couldn't believe it - came off for Sam on about 25 minutes then seemingly 5 minutes later came back on for Dowes. I've got used to seeing him come back on on 55 minutes and rip into the opposition so felt a bit cheated

Precisely. I just don't accept that they can't learn anything no matter what the coaching staff have tried. The only other possibility is that they won't listen, in which case they should be moved on.

It may be that with no game next week he played longer than might otherwise have been the case.

Frustrating to concede late tries again but it's a fine win and given the conditions I don't think we can be too hard on the team for the lapses.
