| Still playing too much dumb rugby. Arundel and the fullback mistake has been mentioned but also Tickle kicking the ball out on the restart. Miller looked a lot better today tacking charge. If Horney is fit then this could be a good combination. Also interesting to note that they moved Miller to the left when he is defending.

Poor distribution by Houghton under their sticks cost us a certain try and Westerman knocked on near there in a tackle as well - something that fall-guy Lynch got slated for last week. Miller has definite potential despite obviously looking quite lightweight at times - it must be one hell of a baptism coming into this side at the minute.

| Quote: fc baldy "Players yet again being stupid,Arundel going down touchline and going in touch, even Stevie Wonder would have seen that coming'"
Lineham shouldn't have passed it to him in the first place, the winger had turned his back to him in expectation that he was going to pass it. Should have dummied and gone himself, would have been away easily. I also think Arundel was hard down to by being called in touch, looked to me like he had been tackled then was pushed over the line after the tackle had been made.
Quote: fc baldy "Briscoe getting done on a high kick AGAIN'"
Wasn't the best effort, but McGilvray was always going to win that contest being the bigger man and running onto it. What we should be questioning here is how Brough got so much time to place his kick, and why, when we know high balls aren't Briscoe's strength, isn't he helped in this area defensively.
Quote: fc baldy "did anyone else notice at the end of the 1st half..Miller had to jump into acting half because both hookers nowhere to be seen and Houghtons passing was bloody abysmal..he is superleagues biggest myth.'"
We were only playing one hooker today, Heremaia was half back, but I see what you mean regarding Houghton's passing. Despite being an excellent defender, with a massive work rate, his vision in attack is his downfall.

| Question? Do we have a club policy were the players are not aloud to offload? Leeds will offload more times in one set than we do in a season. Granted you cant offload all the time, but if we off load once a game its a miracle. How many times today did Hudds slip the ball out the tackle, Whiting did it once for us in the whole game.

| Third worst attack in the league is utterly shocking for a team with players such as Briscoe, Crooks, Lineham, Holdsworth in it.
Complete embarrassment.
No runners providing options, no offloads, no flair, no speed and just no idea what to do.
We're a very poor attacking team who can't play as a team. We've got some very good players individually but that's it.

| Think a draw would have been a fair result today....but we got a bit of luck at the end and sneaked it, thought the officials were appaling for both sides and missed plenty of stuff. Dont think the heat helped as players from both looked dead on their feet at times.

This is why there's now a big question mark over gentle IMO. He has better players at the club than last season yet we're no better and probably worse

| I felt we were a bit hard done to today and a couple of bounces of ball the other way could have won. Which is nice because the last 3 losses have felt completely justified.
Effort was there today and this showed in the (majority of the) defence. Attack wise we still look a little clueless for most of it, which is annoying when you see potential there such as the first try - we just seem to forget how to do it!
I fully expect us to make it a run of 5 next week but those who think that might have gentle worried about his future; get a grip, it's 5 losses. I'm not saying our form or improvement/lack of improvement is acceptable but if you think a run of 5 losses will mean "bye-bye" then you're dafter than I thought.
Our big problem IMO is the cohesion/thinking ahead/running for each other you see in the better clubs. This can be attributed a lot to confidence, but is also a general marker of the "happiness" of the team. It is very small margins in this game and the difference isnt much between a well oiled machine and a bag of spanners. Something isn't quite clicking, but if we can find that missing something then we have the squad to do things. As it is, bags of spanners all round.

| One thing that is annoying, we have scored early first the last three games, and still lost.

| Quote: heard1989 "Thought we played well today despite lacking direction in attack.
1st Point i'd like to make is, Houghton needs to practice passing right alot more. To many times his dodgy passes are at our players legs. I no it's hard if your a right handed player but it's professional rugby league.
I thought we were unlucky with some dubious refereeing decisions. How on earth the touch judge could not see the knock on in the second half, but what was worse was Bentham ruled back to 1. There was no FC player in sight.
Overall the performance was good, But to be honest i were expecting it as we were up against a good team.
Last thing, what actually happened in that little scuffle after Ogre's try?? All i saw was a quick pass by Miller sent Ogre crashing over then there was fighting.'"
Watch the Ellis tackle on the TV before the O'Meley try clear head contact although clumsy not deliberate and the rule is quite clear a penalty should be awarded.
Two weeks ago we had one chalked off against Saints when Ady Gardner slipped into one of our props Stuart Cumins explained the rule on sky 'Bent' 'Ham' was bad for both sides not just us and he saved you three tries by spotting forward passes which is unusual for him !!!!

Spot on. As long as misguided praise is heaped on our local England no 9 candidate no doubt we'll continue to play slow disjointed rugby. Houghtoncan't pass.
