| Craig Hall is the RL equivalent of Matt Le Tissier. I always think there should be room for this type of player who can make something out of nothing, whatever the sport. Just my opinion and I appreciate that some people would take the view that solidity in a team sport is more important than flair.
Hall's still only 22 though and I think provided he gets a run in his natural position of centre, he'll go on to have a decent career with us.
One thing that gets overlooked is that Hall's place kicking is great. FC are blessed right now with great kickers in Tickle and Fitzgibbon (I believe every single kick bar two has been made this season and both of the missed ones hit the post!!!) At Widnes, he went straight into the team and racked up points galore from the boot - in many teams he'd be the first choice kicker. It's only at Hull that he's the third choice.
In years to come, his boot could be a further plus together with his centre play.

| Oh well we wont need to have this debate next season as Ive just been reading on their site that Hall is nailed on for Rovers along with about 15 other of our lads.
I do hope they leave us enough players for maybe a 6 aside on West park !!

Us real fans don't look over our shoulder at our neighbours and do whatever we can to get one over on them. We look at the bigger picture. And this is the reason why Rovers are and will forever be considered a small club. Because their fans and board would rather get one over on Hull FC above anything else.

| Quote: downtheante "Hall might pass the ball but the number of times those passes go behind players, into touch or just to ground is too high. This is something he really needs to work on. He has certainly improved his defence but still threw the pass behind Whiting at Wigan at a key point in the match with the line at Hull's mercy. Yeaman passes when he doesn't put the winger into trouble. I think the Yeaman "never passes" thing is out-dated.'"
Whiting overrun the pass. He wasn't even looking for it. Poor centre play IMO. Keep Whiting on the wing and put C.Hall at centre against Salford.

Yeah that's what I'm waiting for, it will probably arrive before you post anything decent.

He overran a pass he wasn't even looking for? If he wasn't looking for the pass, surely he would have stopped running altogether.

Having looked at the Wigan highlights a few times, that missed opportunity was down to both players in part IMO. Whiting did overrun the pass somewhat but at the same time Hall's pass could have been better.
I put it down to a non-winger passing to a non-centre myself.

Yes bad use of words. What I meant was he overran the pass and it seemed like he didn't read the play very well at all probably causing him to overrun the pass. Craig Hall always scores tries and you can say what you want about his defence against Wigan, he wasn't exactly well supported by Whiting and the rest of the defence.

Again this is unfair on Whiting. He was left as badly exposed as Hall from what I saw.

This is probably about right, though I don't agree with your description of Whiting.

IMO i wouldn't even play Hall full stop, i would bring in Tuffour or Lynne as a straight swap for Calderwood and play Whiting inside for a bit of experience.
I don't understand why Agar is playing the players out of position as Whiting and Hall aren't wingers and imo its a specialist area and Tuffour and Lynne are now in a full time environement so its a sink or swim situation for them, no disrespect to Salford but i would be more concerned if it was the likes of Saints.

| I'd like to think halls just unlucky due to a lack of experienced wingers to be partnered with.
If he's partnered with briscoe they aren't organised well enough and if he's with calderwood there's no power in defence.
If raynor was here, I'm not suggesting we got it wrong by the way, but hall and raynor on the left and yeaman and calderwood on the right would be very well balanced Imo
Agars just playing it safe
