Replace the word 'Leeds' with the phrase 'Any team in the league' and I think you're about right.

Or making a good kick return
Oh wait he's only brought it back to where he should of caught it in the first place after letting it bounce 20 yards back eh

| I knew there would be a lengthy thread about Tony after he knocked on. Iirc, the first knock on he has made since returning?
Since he has come back from injury I feel he has been very poor (he looked okay in patches against Leeds though). He didnt look fit at all and looked out of sorts. Yesterday was the first time I thought he actually he had a good game. He caught the ball on the full most of the time, made the right decisions when allow the ball to bounce into touch, returned the ball well and he was actually used as a runner in attack for once instead of a pivot which helped his game

| Tony isn't a fullback, I've always said that and I will continue to. He's extremely dodgy under a high ball, poor positional play, doesnt return the ball as effectively as he used to, poor support play, etc. If we used Motu as a utility player then he would be very useful for us due to his versatility, but imo he hasnt got a specialist position and never will do, it's just the type of player he is. If he leaves next year I won't lose any sleep, and if he stays I'll have no complaints as long as he isnt our starting fullback.

| some of the people who have commented on this thread were clearly not at warrington.
Tony and the two wingers carried more ball up that our props combined. They did so much work that they became so knackered they couldn't do anything else.
If we are to have a thread about a specific player then perhaps pick someone in our pack that were battered by warrington all day long,
Ewan Dowes- poor yards, not enough carries from him at difficult times and got put on his by their half backs three times.
Lee Radford- waste of space, never breaks a tackle, no pace, misses one on one tackles in defence.
So get of Tony's back and look for the real reason we are poor this year

| Quote: Rock God X "You say that like it's a bonus if they can do it. I'm no Motu basher, by the way, and I think he's a good player overall. I don't think he's a first choice full back, however.
The point is, a top full back will maybe let one or two bombs a season bounce, not one or two a game. I know full backs need to be more than safe in the modern game, but they do have to be safe.'"
And he is most of the time. One handling error every few games is better than most players in the league and, as always, the 'letting the ball bounce' thing is exaggerated. It is an area he could improve in, and he won't be a top fullback unless he does, but the problem is blown out of proportion whilst what he brings to the team isn't mentioned (I'm talking generally here, not about you specifically).

| You are spot on,the backs worked there of yesterday to try and get us out of our 20 and the reason is ,because our forwards and especailly our props are SHiiTE!!!,if this doesn't get rectified we will be talking about the same things every week.

| Full back knocking the ball on happens, I can deal with that. What I can't deal with is the constant pussying around when it comes to catching the bloody ball, any slight preassure and he seems to bottle it every time. I know he has a fan club on here who will probably give me a 6 paragraph essay on how good he is but I can see with my own eyes, I don't care how good his kick return (which again has being poor, granted he is returning from injury though) is if he is constantley putting us on the back foot.
Its not as if he does a great deal in attack either, which some on here would make you believe he does.
Don't deserve a new contract IMO.

Your right but it would be more if he attempting more instead of leaving them to bounce.

| When I first saw him play for NZ he was playing hooker and looked very good.
I'm amazed he's anywhere near the full back position.
If he'd have been at any other club then Hull I dont think he would ever have played full back.
