Yup, I know its ten per pass, but Standees post (to me at least) seemed to imply it was ten quid on each of the three payments per pass.

The irony.
Surprised your even in this thread, will the club be gracing your presence this year or are we relying on radio and finals still?

| Surely with an underwriter being used then the only way to cover this cost is per pass as its effectively an insurance for the club per pass. The club send the passes out before the last payment of £80 it could be very hard for the club if many of the payments where not met, so they get somebody to underwrite each pass. I have had to use this method as its cheaper than putting the pass on my credit card until feb. For me its a none issue when there's plenty of issues about.

My apologies, but i haven't read right through the pages and pages of moaning about something that is a fact of life.. Finance and card payments carry charges it's as simple as that.. I don't like it, but my pass offers excellent value for money IMO.
People have been too used to getting free cash from banks over the years that they now see it as their right. Unfortunately because of this attitude banks are no longer lending money out so, the club could probably offer this a little cheaper through an actual credit company but the issue that this is subject to a credit score and some people may be declined. The current system is open and accepted for everyone, maybe there is a cost implication involved in this method.
Also, at £10 the club ensure that everyone is paying the same price. If it was per transaction and someone buys 20 passes for them and the family/friends, they effectively just pay 50p finance fee. So someone buying 1 pass pays £9.50 more.... How is that fair??

Really, has anyone EVER got "free money" from a bank, I very much doubt it.

| My car insurance renewal came thorugh the other day. The total quote was for £434 if I pay upfront, and £509 if I pay by DD. So I'd be effectively paying £75 for the addittional admin and interest should I choose the DD option.
I don't think the £10 charge is that bad really, to say your effectively borowing from the club until the final payment is made.
If you want to borrow for anything, it'll cost you extra, whether that's a mortgage, bank loan, overdraft or a loan from 'Quickquid'.

How about 5% or 10% per transaction??
It's a fact of life, you pay for the priviledge of credit.. giving away free money is the reason this country is finacially on it's ar5e..
And for the record, i've paid for my pass monthly aswell as i don't have the funds for £230 in one go!!'"
Think the point here is that it's not credit for borrowing and spending elsewhere, it's credit for a purchase and spending with the club. (giving credit by a bank interest free would be pointless as they nothing out of it. A Retailer still makes a profit on the purchase) Retailers like car dealerships know that sometimes it's the only way to get a sale for a luxury purchase. Ultimately those buying FC's season passes on credit would probably only come to 5-10 games and pick and choose so the club know they are making something for nothing anyway and it drives gates up. They should not be adding charges imo.

People are posting their opinions on a public forum not moaning...My original gripe was that if I buy 3 passes with my debit card I will be charged £6....£2 per pass, yet it is only one transaction on my card..I do not get charged at shops etc for using a debit card which is considered a safer system instead of carrying cash.
This whole debate or moan as you call it is not about the value of the price of the pass it is about excessive charges incurred unless you buy the passes with cash.

Indeed, and said cash has to be counted and then banked, which is more labout intensive than processing a card payment.

But as 99.9% of other companies charge for card transactions by the percentage (mostly around 2%) this would carry a charge of £3.98 per pass (south stand) and £4.60 per pass (east stand) but maybe you'd prefer this.
Standee... Yes interest free has always (until recently) been just that.. Interest free, no charges at all other than charges to the retailer. These charges have gradually risen to such an astronomical level that the retailer cannot offer IFC anymore and so the banks now offer a reduced rate at the expense of forcing a 'finance fee'.. It's just they way it is.
Strange how you think that charging £10 for spreading the cost of your pass is unfair yet, when i suggest that a hotel in cardiff trebled/almost quadrupled their prices just for one weekend is perfectly fine... How odd??
