Yes, all of which was warranted. He has being garbage barring last few weeks.
That is entirely different to wanting to sack a coach because we lost one game.
Saying that though, you probably formed your opinion off the radio.

Yeah and you always feel the need to swear or try to insult others in the process.
For the record I've never being a mod on here.

| Quote: UllFC "my view on Agar is that I still don't rate him, and think he has a lot to prove
but sacking him now would be pointless, we have made a decent start to the season. Yes last nights performance and our performance in Wales were poor, but we also got an unexpected win at Saints that counters one of those unexpected defeats.
so at the moment I'd stick with him, but if he is out of contract at the end of the year I'd hope we are going after a big name to replace him. Brown at Hudds and Mcguire at Wigan have shown what a difference a coach can make without making many new signings.'"
My thoughts exactly.
Removing Agar now would be both harsh (4 wins from 6) and self-defeating (there isn't a top class replacement available to take over immediately).
But long-term he isn't the answer. Surely no-one genuinely believes Richard Agar is the man to take us to the mountain top. If he was, we would have seen evidence of these qualities during the last two years. A top class coach would have extracted a good deal more out of the squad of players he had inherited even with all the injury problems, visa hassles, disruptions.
I repeat what I said above, he is a grade B coach in charge of a grade A club, but the reality is, we have little choice but to see out this season with him in charge.

I would say that is a fair assessment.
I just think its unfair to call for his head at this stage.

Agreed, Once the decision was made last year to retain him as coach we effectively commited ourselves to keeping him for 12 months. Increasingly in the modern game, the time to change coach is at the end of a season (and certainly not 6 games in, 4 of which we have won).
To call for his head just because we lost away at Wigan is ludicrous. On that basis there will probably be hardly a coach safe all year.

| Not Agars biggest fan as you will know from my other posts about him. However it was the players who failed to perform last night. If the players had played to their potential i think it would have been a totally different game.
Is he capable of taking us to the top? Nobody can answer that, but losing to Wigan is no big thing most of our coaches over the years have managed to do it.

You really need to grow up. If you read the thread you'd see I don't think Agar should be sacked - yet.
I've seen far, far, more of Hull than you have, btw.

Think you do TBH.
I've not missed a game this season, so reckon I'm more then qualified for my opinion of the team this term. Your last statement is purely a guess considering you don't know me.

| As an outsider looking in i can see why many on here aren't happy with Agar but still it would be stupid to get rid of him now unless you have a top class coach to replace him.
You have a large fan base, good emerging talent, a world class stadium and some world class talent on your books. I don’t think it would be too much for Hull FC fans to demand a world class coach as well. The potential is there in Hull for all to see and it needs to be unleashed by a coach on the cusp of modern RL thinking. Agar isn’t necessarily a bad coach by any means but there are better viable options out there imo.
Regardless of what you think of Wigan or Hudds those two clubs have shown just what a world class coach can do for a team.
You guys should be moving heaven and earth next season to bring in Kearney to the KC as he’d take you to the next level.
Great turnout from Hull FC last night btw

| Quote: BP1 "Thought I would stick my twopennyworth in to the debate.
Although last nights performance was a little disappointing (even though the loss was probably expected), it would be harsh in the extreme to sack Agar when we have 4 wins from 6 so far. What's more, removing him would solve little as the chances of being able to appoint a top class coach in March are minimal. These days. coaches seem loathe to switch clubs mid season, preferring to see out their contract with the coaching merry go-round taking place during the close season. This situation seems to be especially true down under with coaching movements often known well before the end of the current season. The other option would be to install Moore as head coach, but seeing as promoting the assistant of a failed sacked head coach is what got us into this situation in the first place, I don't think its the right option. Also Moore is unproven as a head coach so again we would be back to square one.
So Agar should stay for the time being, given the current dictates. Having said all that, I do not believe his contract should be extended beyond the current campaign.
Everything about our club indicates that we should be challenging Leeds for the position of top dogs in SL. Our ground, attendance levels, income streams, merchandising sales etc all point towards one of the biggest clubs in the British game, which is why we was awarded a grade A franchise in 2008. But these advantages are clearly not being transferred into an eqvilalent level of success on the playing field. One of the major contributory factors holding us back from making a genuine sustained challenge for honours is the board's refusal to head hunt a World class head coach. With all the will in the World, Richard Agar is not the man to take us up to the next level and in my opinion the board should start making discreet enquiries now concerning potential candidates for the position for the next 3-5 years.
This isn't a knee-jerk reaction to last night's result, I have been of the opinion that Richard Agar is not the man for the job since the day at Quins when Peter Sharp was fired. We have the basis of a playing squad capable of great things (there isn't too much tinkering required) but I'm afraid we will continue to languish in mid table rather than top 3 (which is where we should be) until this issue is faced up to.
So in summary
