| Quote ccs="ccs"Oddly, I found the criticism of Yeaman on this forum even more embarrassing.
He was helping the club out during an unprecedented injury crisis.
LR said playing some of the youngsters at this stage in their careers would have done more harm than good, so well done Kirk for having the courage to give it a go. Surely no one was expecting him to be a world beater?'"
Full credit for Yeaman for putting his hand up and giving it his best, I can't knock him for that. But he was well off the pace. Maybe he will get back into the swing a little if he is going to have 3 or 4 games in a row. But I would thank him for his efforts and get him back to coaching.

No but i expect him to catch and keep hold of the ball
Lane, Turgut or even Washbrook would have done a better job.At least they were match fit
There is no reason to play Yeaman at Warrington. In reality this is a game we will not win with such a weakened team and playing Yeaman will not make a difference to the end result so give Sanderson his chance like Radford has done with Cameron Scott.

| Yeaman was helping out , it’s ok say play youngsters but you need some experience out there to help them out . For not playing in 16 months didn’t think was that bad .

He found a new target initially in Griffin.
That worked out well.

| The cap must be an issue surely to bring Ellis back and play Sanderson won't happen unless we are really short, Yeaman was fine and will carry on doing a job, why would you move Connor who was MOM in the last three games back to centre and play Miloudi ther who is a fullback????? Thought Miloudi did well on the wing.

Why would the cap be an issue? I arent the salary cap expert, but I am pretty sure Sanderson won't count on the cap anyway. I highly doubt he is in our top 25 earners, so he wouldn't be counted because he is under 21, and I expect earns under 20k aswell.
Yeaman and Ellis are more of a grey area, but they are paid to be a conditioner and manager respectively. Those salaries have nothing to do with them playing. They might even be playing for nothing. I don't know what the arrangement is.

Always thought that their non playing salary would then count on the cap. Eg if Ellis earned £50,000 a year as head of rugby or whatever it is then that would then count.

That is how I understand it too, the full wage counts on the cap regardless of it being a player wage, as otherwise clubs would give all their players a side-job and cheat the cap. Like how some clubs allegedly had players wives as very well paid shop staff years ago.

I don't honestly know what the rule is, but I very much doubt that's the case. I will see if I can see anything in the operating rules.

| Just had a skim through. There is a brief and fairly vague paragraph about it which essentially says it is at the discretion of the RFL and they will determine what the players salary cap value would be. It isn't just their wage straight up going on cap.
