I guess the point is that the current format is ridiculous. Aside from the fact that the 8th place team have generally lost half their games, the week one 1v4 2v3 fixtures can quite easily be repeated in week three. Cas and Huddersfield knew that even by losing they can still make the Grand Final (as with Warrington v Saints in 2012 or Wigan v Leeds in 2010).

I like the new top 4 straight knockout system; Short, simple and to the point.

I agree, nobody has taken to the top8 format, the teams that finish 5th-8th have generally made no impact (Leeds being the obvious exception) and crowds have been dire, and absolutely nobody likes the Clubcall stunt.

I think the new structure will make the 'big' teams perform every week, and not just coast in to the top4 and turn up for the playoffs like they do now.

As a Cas fan would just say the decision to drop Sneyd was justified as he has been woeful in recent weeks. Some absolutely schoolboy errors. Since he was announced for you next year he has not performed at all. In the last 5 games he has not looked like a 10k player never mind 100k.
