The same can be said of Paul Anderson at Huddersfield, with neither having vast previous Head Coach experience but both knowing their clubs inside-out.

Brian McDermott is another case in point at Leeds Rhinos. I recall in early 2011 many people were calling into question his position at the club after winning just two matches from eight, but admirably their Chairman Gary Hetherington backed his coach. That loyalty was rewarded within months when Brian delivered victory in the Super League Grand Final."

Are the journeys of these 3 really comparable to Radford? I'd also argue that these 3 were not the architects of the changes at those clubs but rather the beneficiaries.

Anyway it's blatantly obvious the coach is going to be Radford for the foreseeable future so we just have to get on with it.

That was obvious to me after the interview and has been backed up by the programme notes. He's been given a free pass this year to solve things. I think next season will be another matter though.

I agree.Clubs cant afford a bad start next season.
Lose the first 3 or 4 matches and Radford will be on his bike.

Nail on head, we need the 'architect' to come and make the plans and lay the foundations first like McGuire, Brown, Tony Smith & Brian Mclennan did. McDermott, Wane & Anderson have all done good jobs to continue their clubs progress, but they didn't get the ball rolling.

The bit that hints at why Gentle got the Spanish Archer is this bit for me:



Seems that Gentle didn't deliver on certain targets he was given.

Or, possibly, Pearson feels that he, Radford, and Tony are capable of implementing the blueprint used at these clubs without using a 'guru' from Australia. After all, it's now common knowledge what was done and how it was achieved. In fact I'd wager that Pearson asked Gentle to set these structures up and he failed to do so - see the comments I quoted above.

This suggests to me that Radford may not be here until the end of next season and may be on his way if we have a bad start.

I doubt anyone at the club on the coaching side has a job for life and rightly so.
