Did we play Wakey those years?

Didnt play Wakey in 79/80 or 80/81.The 1983 is the 82/83 season.I know we lost to them at wembley but i dont remember there been a draw for any finals.And we did beat them in 58/59 and reached the final.

Missed the semi at w-end due to being in london but as omens go,this is a good one.Was buying tickets at euston stn to watford junction and the bloke in the kiosk knew who we was playing,why and where (had fc polo on)..got on train and passed wembley stadium and just said to the kids..its a bloody omen.

I'm confused at what you were getting at here (It's an age thing), I guess that you are just listing the years we played Wakey either in the final or on the way to it? however Wakey beat us in the CC final of 1960 result 38-5, and in 1983 it was Featherstone who beat us in the final

I'll try to clarify what I originally posted.I was trying to point out that when we had drawn Wakey in the rounds leading up to the final we had always made the final.
You are 100% right about 1960 but my memory doesnt go back that far.We drew them in 58/59 as well when we lost to Wigan in the Final.

Also come to think of it, in 05 and this year we drew at home on the last day, and missed a penalty, and had to wait for a result elsewhere to confirm our promotion.

Think I will join your dad! My record at Wembley is 4 losses out of 4 matches including the two against Wigan and the 2 in a row against Wigan and Wakefield. Also saw Hull KR lose in 1963 making a dismal record for watching Hull teams( except 1980) Do not subscribe to the third time lucky theory either.

It will all come down to how well we play on the day. And I'm way too excited about it.

In 2005 my wife and I couldn't make the final as we were on holiday in Spain. We won.

In 2008 we made the trip to Wembley. We lost.

This year we can't make the final again. So we have a good chance.

In 2005 my other half was pregnant with 1st child, had a boy - WON

In 2008 she was pregnant with 2nd child, Girl - LOST

2013 she is pregnant again...

Only difference is that in 2008 she had already had her before the final. In 2005 and this year she will be pregnant at the game!!
