Catalan always take at least one game on the road every season. They won't give up home advantage on this one and as it's Bastille day on the Sunday, the most likely day for the game will be Saturday, although it could be Friday night. In some ways I hope the BBC don't cover this game, although it would be great for fans not making the trip, it would also mean that KO would probably be scheduled for 2.30pm which could be a killer for us in mid July, an evening KO will give us a better chance.

I've got it on pretty good authority - 95% - that our game will be on the BBC. The BBC games are scheduled to KO at 4pm on Saturday and 4.15pm on Sunday. The delay with making a decision is apparently down to negotiations that the BBC are having with French broadcasters and the RFL are as frustrated as anyone. As stated earlier , logic says that the French would want to play it on the Saturday to avoid a clash with Bastille Day. Fingers crossed that's the way it will go.

Not sure why the BBC would have to negotiate with the French broadcasters, the BBC and Sky own the right to the Challenge Cup so they can dictate, surely?

That's exactly it. Apparently using other broadcaster's kit on location esp on one off's is the norm.

Just ring the communications manager at the RFL he'll tell you. Number's on their site. He didn't want to confirm anything because they were still awaiting the BBC to get back to them but he was "95%" certain that the Beeb were showing our game.
