Horne, alongside Yeaman and Whiting, are two players it's illegal to attach any criticism to. Their omnipresence through six years of unbroken ineptitude is purely coincidental.'"
Horne is not an organiser. He's not a first receiver and he's got no long kicking game. When he is asked to play that role, he doesn't do it very well. Unsurprisingly. When he plays alongside an organising halfback, he does much better. That he hasn't had that opportunity very much in the last six years is not his fault. All that aside, it can hardly be said to be 'illegal' to criticise him when many posters do just that on an almost weekly basis.
As far as Whiting goes, to criticise his contribution over the past six years certainly wouldn't be illegal. It would be quite stupid, though. He has consistently performed to a good or very good standard, with a few excellent games thrown in there as well. You could count his outright poor performances on the fingers of one hand. All that whilst playing just about every position on the park.
Yeaman is too small for the second row, and too slow/lacking in skill for the centre. I'd have dropped him several times during the Agar years and I'd certainly drop him for next week.
