If we sign a FB and half I see Horne challenging for the fb spot but filling in at centre and 6.

He's been injury free for a few games now and I think he's playing well. Like Panda I rate him at least as highly as McDonnell. He's versatile could fit in right across the three-quarters or the halves. Not as quick as he used to be but he reads a game well, joins the line well too, great hands, still a superb defender, and reliable under the high ball
I'd be happy keeping Rich for one more swansong season. What a servant to Hull FC. Immense.

I've been impressed with him at FB. Wouldn't be too disappointed with him there next season, so long as our other new half is quality. Would prefer a specialist FB though, Horney would provide good competition for the 1/6 spots.

We have been carrying this bloke for far far to long, he's not a fb not a standoff not a seven..... If we retain him next year and he is more than a utility player well down the pecking order shows a severe lack of ambition...

Horne lacks mental sharpness and always visibly struggles with decision making on the pitch. Just not good enough.

The thing that makes me think he should probably retire is the way he hesitates before hitting the tacklers now. He clearly doesn't feel fit/strong enough to hit at full speed like he used to.

As I've said all season, Richard Horne is now not good enough for us. We have better options in all positions.

It's a shame, and he has been such a good servant.

But, nostalgia and sentiment apart, he should quit while he is ahead.
