Which won't happen if all the best players go elsewhere for the money, bit of a catch 22. I don't advocate just throwing money at a player cos he can get it elsewhere,we'll end up like football if we do that without any regulation.

| Everyone needs to do a Michael Winner. This is a story in the Sun FFS. These "invitations" from unnamed clubs (do they even exist) are probably something and nothing (unless Tom's phone has been hacked and "Bruce from Wagga Wagga Broncos" has left him a message that's made the RL correspondent all moist).
Yes Tom's an attractive prospect for a club but they would need to buy out a contract in the first place and Gentle/McRae and Pearson would need to be happy with any deal for him to go.
God forbid if Sam Moa ever goes on holiday to Japan in the sumo recruiting season

I disagree. It has everything to do with it IMO. If I could do the same job in Aussie for alot more money then a British employer will pay then its a no brainer. A rugby player only has a short shelf life as a player, surely a player will do everything they can to earn as much as they can in their career. If a British club pays the same then at least the player may decide to stay in the UK.

| A player of Bricoes quality will always attract headlines like this but there is no substance to the story! he is still under contact so i would take it with a pinch of salt. If he did go it would prove having a salary cap in super league isn't working under the current format as were losing to many of our best players to either nrl or union

| The challenge for Hull is to sort themselves out after years of mediocrity and become an attractive offer for players like Tom.
He'll be 23/24 when his contract ends, and no player of his quality will want to sit around for the 'glory' of finishing 8th and be steamrollered in the playoffs.
as often stated, with have the ground, support and off the field structure to be an attractive option...but just haven't delivered on the field since 2007.

Hopefully the new regime will correct this matter.

Tom would earn more money here where he's a superstar than he would in Oz where he's virtually unknown. If he goes it'll be because he wants to improve and prove himself at a higher level, not because of money. Imo.

| Hull FC need to become successful on the pitch, to hold on to players of Briscoes quality.
That success will also attract players of quality.

| I have it on good authority that this year will be Briscoe's last as an FC player. The only way he will stay with us is if he can't agree a deal in Aus.

Thats how i see it,think if you speak to the people in the know at the club they know they wont be able to keep hold of him anyway.
