To be fair I think it just popped out in the excitement of his hat-trick try and he almost immediately started to backtrack from it. Just a harmless piece of hyperbole in the heat of the moment. |

I think its a bit of a bold statement calling him one of the best in the world but hes certainly one of the best wingers in superleague and i wouldnt swap the kid for anyone else...excellent player who can only get better for me.

Tom Briscoe is a superb player, and arguably the best in Super League, but you have to take into consideration who the SOO players are playing against too. If any of them were to come over here I think its safe to say they would have a huge impact.

At the time I thought it was a very bold statement to make, but comparing Briscoe to the SOO wingers for example, he may be have a point:
Uate - very quick and strong, but doesnt have the 'class' to make something from nothing, lacks the balance that TB has
Boyd - is a fullback
Morris - great winger, strong and quick - probably ahead of Briscoe at this stage
Yow Yeh - promising player but i think overall, TB has more to his game
Am i being completely bias?? Maybe!

You have to take in consideration the fact that Briscoe plays against Superleague defences, and you've stated wingers playing state of origin, against undoubtedly the best defenders in the world. When Briscoe proves he can do his magic internationally against the big two, i'll agree  |
