TBH Agar's recruitment has been solid over the last couple of seasons.

Will only get even better when he regains full fitness .

Turning out to be an excellent signing, he offers us something we have lacked for years.

Sharp, Westerman, Phelps, O'Meley, Long, Fitz, Turner - all of which were signed in the past two years and fail to meet your 'criteria' above.

Seriously, why do you always go out of your way to spout negativity? We've got Gleeson at Hull FC, the best centre we've had in years, who cares about the circumstances by which he arrived?

Everytime he got the ball last night he looked like he was going to score, or put Whiting/Sharp away, even from inside our own half.

He'll continue to improve too once he sheds his extra pounds and gets to know the way we play and the men on his inside and outside.

Berrigan leaving when he did, has done us a massive favour indeed! When you see the difference that his salary has made by being spent on quality in other parts of the squad.

We could conceivably have picked up Gleeson and Obst for close to the same amount that he was costing.

I have been very critical of Agar all along but Gleeson, Obst and Phelps are turning out to be huge signings for us and very very astute ones at that.

Indeed, but nobody can deny they were all signings of circumstance rather than planning.

Very true but still all needed to be done and there has to be a huge amount of credit given to Agar and the club in general because they are all proving to be cracking signings and exactly what we were lacking in our squad.

I don't disagree that they deserve credit for signing them, but they should have done so in the closed season. I am happy with what we have, we need a better half back pairing moving forward, and Westerman at 13 next season.

If we'd gone for Gleeson in the off season, we'd have had to pay a big fee to Wigan and a lot more in wages than he currently is on. Smart opportunism by Hull; Gleeson was not a realistic target for us before the season started.

I don't disagree, I am just stating that (IMHO) we've been fortunate rather than astute.
