If he is carrying a knock you wonder what he would offer, he has never really been a playmaker, and the games he has stood out it has been from his speed off the mark, buzzing around the field like his Saints days and taking the line on, so if his movement is resricted he wouldn't bring that much, especially has his kicking game has been poor, pointless taking a risk with him when we for the first time we have a very similar player in Obst.

Puts paid to the total BS on here about him not being injured. As Paul M says it's down to the player and medical staff.

Some of the stuff posted on here is as embarrassing as our right side defensive structure.

The fact he is saying he will "Play through the pain" tells you that he is carrying an injury into the game. Not exactly a wise thing to do with a recent injury record like Long has.

The club have blamed injuries for our problems for way too long, yet some are happy for players to go into a game carrying an injury which can easily get worse and cause a long term absence. So you are right some of the stuff said is rather embarrassing.

I can remember the days when players with injuries would keep it out of the public domain incase the oppersition targeted them !

Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. What's he menat to say - he's our key player and having left the field early to injury in our previous game it is only realistic that the media will be probing his current status.

If there is any chance of him doing long term damage we won't play him.

Your quite happy to see him play on Sunday as is Paul M. When you take into account he is going to be playing through the pain that to me would suggest he is going to be carrying an injury into the game. A game against one of the harder hitting teams in SL who will be hell bent on making up for a loss last week.

If Long then damages himself further and is out for x amount of weeks/months will this then be down to bad luck? Will the coach go on about not having his halfbacks fit etc.

Or it could be a ploy from Long to take the field and come off injured after 5 minutes thus causing us to lose and Agar to be shown the door. (Just to keep the conspiracy theorist happy)
