The competition is going to an u20 and you are only allowed 2 players over the age of 20. I have no idea what half wit dreamt up this fiasco but I reckon it will put our game back years. I think we would be better off doing what other teams do and importing players as and when developing players has now become and expensive and near pointless activity.

They want SL clubs to develope "relationships" ( feeders) with lower league sides. This would deny many players from playing the game and just make the SL club more powerful, perhaps that is the whole point.

Just thinking that players over 20 that are late developers won't get much chance to sign full time for a year to earn a contract.

Players that are over 20 can still be signed by the club, but in order to continue their development would have to be sent out on loan. To be honest, they'll develop a lot better at Championship sides than they will in the reserve grade. Much of the reserve grade is a joke of a standard for young aspiring players to be playing in, especially compared to the Australian counterpart.

Whether this works or not will be later seen. I'd like to judge it after rather than before. It seems to be working well in Australia.

Paul Shaw has gone back to West Hull too but has had interest from some Championship sides.

I agree there are a few players who we had playing for our reserves that would struggle to get a game for a National Conference side, let alone stand out.

I know a kid who plays at Donny and said that Donny were playing 3 props on a bench some games and he was hardly getting a game, so he asked to come back or Hull wanted him back.

so where going into next season with just houghton, if berrigan doesn't recover, who can play hooker?

Always struggled with his fitness imo. Had some pretty decent impact but lacked an engine.
