The problem with our defence is the amount of pressure it is under throughout a game , very few sides (if any) could defend effectivley for the amount of time in a game we have to the problem is we have no go forward a beaten pack and no effective halbacks and into that mix no on field leaders so for 60/70 mins a game we are defending.
Watched boots and all a few weeks back and Paul Cullen was anaylising (sp??) our defence and actually pointed out how well we use the pendulum method and how as a squad we cover for each other when others are out of position i.e Tansey out of position somebody automatically drops in.
I'm not the biggist John Sharpe fan but to be honest it is virtually impossible to valuate our defence performaces due to as I have said our lack of attacking play , aggressive pack , strange interchanges , even stranger squad selctions etc. Which all fall in Agars lap.

Didn't say that at all , but when you have no go forward within a team and have to defend your line for 60/70 mins and make at times twice as many tackles as your opponents as we do then there is no way you can defend to a high level continuosly for a full game no side would . It is very easy to blame the defence side , but as a team this season we have no go forward and no creatvity in the halfs (both Thorman and Horne)
As for the question I am Agar , I have been called some things in my time but never have I been that insulted

What a load of cack. When have we defended our line for 70 (or even 60) minutes in a match? I bet if you look over a season our number of minutes in attack and defence will be roughly equal. The defence has been average for the last 2 years and we have shown no aggression or willingness to put extra effort in in defence.

It is a fact though isnt it that by dropping the ball all of the time you have to do more defensive work which is more tiring?

It therfore is also a fact that if we were better attacking we would do less defending meaning your joke statement above isnt far wrong.

How does Tony Smith know though?.. Also I read on here a few days ago someone saying that one of the reasons Agar got the job was because Tony Smith gave him a glowing report. Firstly: again how does Tony Smith know? And secondly: he was clearly wrong anyway!

Tony Smith knows because Agar was the England Academy coach and has worked with him!!

Not sure on the full relationship background but Smith appointed Agar GB academy coach last year which Agar had to step down from when he got the Hull job.
