Was that the first sending off of the season?
Yep, first sending off this season in Super League.

Can't quite understand why Sezer does kick.goals anymore,?
Yeah, it's puzzling me a little too! I would have thought the best option would be for Sezer to take the right-side kicks (as a left-foot kicker) with Pryce taking the opposite side (as a right-foot kicker). Sezer's place kicking, prior to Pryce arrival, was certainly above average, so not sure why he hasn't continued, unless it's for personal reasons, but can't think why that should be. Also isn't Hardaker a kicker?

Yep, first sending off this season in Super League. I'm not saying it wasn't a red but nowhere near the worst head contact in the game this season

| Don't have any complaints with the Cust red shoulder direct to the head but had it been the other way around it would have been a yellow every day.
Ashworth was cracking in the second row hopefully he'll stay there, lots to be positive about, Pryce will be a real star in this team once he beds in, unfortunately we just ran out of gas. We can't keep making error after error and expect it not to catch up with us.
What is funny is Rovers can see the gap closing fast and they really don't like it, in a year or 2 we'll be back near the top consistently. Let them have their couple of years in the sun because we all know it won't last.

| Overall I'm still pleased despite defeat, we are laying the foundations with much better fitness, attitude and defence and if we keep on making the right signings we will be right up there next season.
It's frustrating that the fixtures are so lopsided as after a difficult game with Wigan we are then not at home until June. So it could be close to a year til we see a home win and we are a better side than that.
Hopefully this close end to the Wigan-Saints game tires Wigan out a bit as we had some tired legs at the end of the game today.

Proud of our team, proud of the effort that everyone put in this afternoon. I know we've all been saying it for a few weeks now, but the difference in attitude, fitness and commitment from last year is absolutely incredible.
Even if that had been the game and score with a 13v13 scenario, I would have applauded the players off the pitch at the end. For the first time in five derbies we gave them a game and asked a few questions of them. Would have been an interesting situation if we had somehow inched ahead during the second half, but just not quite to be today.
It's always tempting after a close game with a sending off to wonder what might have been, but it doesn't always naturally follow that if Cust hadn't gone off we would have triumphed, we'll never know on that one.
Overall, today was another example of how much progress we have made in such a short space of time and what a fantastic spirit exists between the players and how the team has quickly connected with the fan base. Thought the fans stayed positive throughout the game giving great vocal support for the full eighty.
Hate to talk about rovers, but one final point. Lewis is a great player, potentially could be even better still, but he would be better served reining in some of his crowd baiting antics. Don't think he does himself any favours with his mocking of South stand during today's second half, he's just asking for trouble if he keeps this up. I understand that a certain amount of flak may come his way, especially in a hot blooded derby, but he will be a better player if he rises above it and concentrates instead on his own game, let his talking take place on the pitch not towards supporters baiting for a rise from him.
Looking forward to the rest of our season. A lot to be excited about. We're on the move again, and in an upward direction. This team won't die for lack of effort that is for sure. It feels like we have a club to believe in and be proud of once more, the whole mood around the place is the polar opposite to twelve months ago. Roaming the range together once more for the faithful everywhere.
Great summary. One of the biggest changes is that we've brought in personnel who are genuine competitors personality-wise like Sezer, Rapana, Hardaker, Cust, Knight - makes such a difference.

| Cartwright saying that Sezer had a tweak in his hamstring kicking a goal recently which is presumably why Pryce has taken over it.
Neither have been that successul anyway, they are both on about 67% success rate.

It's such a weird season in that sense so far. We've done really well but we haven't won at home yet. Quite unlucky in that of the 5 home fixtures we've had (or soon to have) its Leigh, Rovers x2 and Wigan x2!

| We need to improve our support play too. 3rd game in a row someone makes a clear break and we fail to score off it

| So disappointing.I was actually confident we could win this game but indiscipline has let us down badly today. really thought we could ride the momentum when we pulled the score to within two points but the fatigue kicked in as did the indisciplne. Cant knock the effort as some players out on their feet but continued to give it all. As said by others why is Sezer not kicking goals? Would just like to see him vary his last tackle kicks and start to kick low and hard to the corners instead of giving the full backs easy takes from a high ball. Interesting to see how we cope now without Asiata for several weeks and with Cust likely to get a ban no doubt move Pryce back to 6. Ashworth played well today so expect him to start in the second row

Why are we without Asiata for a few weeks? He's not injured, Carty took him off because he was absolutely gassed.
