| I do think this has been a good yardstick for us.
Big game. Leeds declared by many to be past their best. Home advantage, and material injury advantage. Good crowd, buoyed up.
The reality is that we played with more visible energy and intensity than them, some cracking efforts in defence. But in every other area they did a comprehensive job on us. Played the conditions better, more structure in attack, threats across the back line, control of the ball. Sure we had chances, but Leeds weren't pressured at any point in the game. They still have the likes of Cuthbertson, Briscoe, McGuire to return. Really sobering game.

Perfect scenario - scape past Leeds tomorrow (doubtful).
Muller Rovers in a semi, (probable) then triumph for the first time on the hallowed Wembley turf against Saints or Wires.
Live the dream.'"
Bad luck.

Yes, Lineham really ripped into Leeds tonight, and if you think he is is your only back with pace then you really do have a problem. The majority of his tries are close range efforts, and has,nt replicated that good season he had with Crookes. Overrated imo and a good piece of business by the Hull Board and will be even more bang average in a vegatating Wire team.

| Well I guess that is that done for another year. I had no real belief that we would go through, right from the moment the draw was made (partly a result of my inbuilt cynicism when it comes to Fc). Another of our bad nights where the body is willing but the brain is weak. Another night to add to a long list I've seen in my time.
As far as the overall competition goes, I think if our nearest & dearest can avoid Leeds in the upcoming draw then I fancy them to make a return to Wembley after a long absence.
If I had to take a punt right now, based on nothing other than gut feeling, I would predict a Leeds-rovers final (which will go down a storm 'round these parts) with Leeds retaining the trophy. They seem to be on a mission to send Sinfield & Peacock on their way with another couple of winner's medals to add to their already impressive collection.
Just a hunch, nothing more. Here's hoping one of the others can put a spanner in the works, for the sake of all our sanity's, or else 2015 could be remembered for all the wrong reasons.

Ellis was one of the best players on the field and that's from a neutral.

Westerman could have scored a couple of tries from those chances and it would have been a different game.
Point I tried to make was that it was the difference between semi finalists and not. Some fantastic hits from Hull defensively particularly Ellis and Watts appeared unstoppable. Maybe Radford should have taken Westerman off earlier for Thompson after the first two of about 6 errors....

Absolutely, in fact you can tell that by the length of teh field tries he's scored this season and the fact he's our top try scorer despite playing on the wing for a team that doesn't/can't pass properly and has missed half the season through injuries and being dropped

| Leigh done themselves proud. Brierley looks a real talent, I'm surprised nobody has tried to sign him (if they haven't)

Leeds have been trying to sign Brierley for the past year. Leigh have played hardball and not let him go.

I wouldn't sell him to Leeds either, even Leigh 'hate Leeds'

Did we though? In some areas yes, but whilst there was clearly a skinny 10 the speed and numbers with which they swarmed towards us in defence completely outstripped our efforts IMO.
