Interesting signing this one. Can cover most of the back line as well as hooker and is British and should be relatively cheap. If he has been brought in to replace Motu we will be weaker at FB IMO but if it allows us to spend more money on a better quality prop and Centre the trade off will be worth it.

All in all this is basically what I was hoping for this year, we are still in the hunt to make the play-offs and we are re-structuring the squad in the areas I think we all wanted to see, ready for next season.

But you are not taking any notice of the circumstances of his selection in the NRL.

most young kids (granted he's not that young, so maybe 'new player' would be better description) break into the first team on the back of an injury to star. the good one's then make the position there own, get good reviews, etc.

how you get into the team doesn't really matter, its what you do once you're in it that counts

Fantastic signing, really pleased with the recruitment for next season. As already said he will offer us a lot next season with the positions he can cover.

Again tho he, like Long, made of point of saying they loved hearing what Agar has said to him and he wants to be apart of it. Wonder what he is telling these people?

yes he did come through leeds academy, he won't have been on big bucks at leeds but it won't have been cheap either. the kid has 50+ super league games under his belt.

what he is on this year, is totally down to syndey (as i can't see leeds would have been willing to top his wage up)

so you have a kid from the NRL with 8 games under his belt at the time of signing, likely to be around 20 when he comes to you. his past club, were he has 50+ games in 2/3 years, were super league champions at his time there.

granted he won't be on mega bucks, as he hasn't played for england, but i can't see him being cheap.

Must admit I'm coming around to this also, it will probably depend on how Motu holds up physically between now and the end of the season.

You may have to change a couple in that 17 the way it is going.

If that is the case then we have been very shrewd, he will give excellent cover to Motu, Horne and Long.
