I don't think anyone wants him out of the side. However there are plenty of people, me being one if them, that thinks a) Heremaia is a better all round 9, and b) Houghton probably isn't good enough for a top 4 team.

Would we have won if he was playing? Maybe so, but that's only because we would have had a genuine 2nd hooker to spell with Azza. Do we not have any other hooking options? Who's been playing there for the 20's? I would have definitely considered recalling Cunningham when we found out Houghton wasn't going to play.

Only reason he gave theirs was because Henderson (iirc) dropped the ball and he'd had to have given the knock on.

Thought we made a few mistakes just at the wrong time which eventually cost us but we held Catalans to 20 points and with a little more patience in the first half we could have wont the game.

Good effort though and they never gave up and stopped trying, last year we loat 30 points to 4 and in teh first half they dig deep to keep them in the game.

Catalans have acclimatised to that heat by now, we were always going to tire early.
They've only lost once at home and that was in February to Leeds.
One of our wingers hadn't played for 3 months and then goes straight into those conditions.

They'd put 40 points past Saints in the same heat and conceded NONE.
We tried to play conservatively in the first half to save energy for the second and it paid off for us.

Thought you were unlucky and it could have gone either way. In that heat i thought you were dead at half time but came back great. Probably tried a bit too hard at times instead of keeping a calm head. I've watched Horney since he was an under 9 and have always been a big fan. Thought it was a typical fc 2014 performance. Full of heart and effort in ridiculous conditions really but just fell short. At times the structure was totally wrong and we still put our set plays on too deep. But effort and spirit not lacking in any way. Been the same all season. Two ptbs by pryce in first half that were immediately prior to tries were very poor but bentham struggled all night with basics. Result would be less expensive had we beaten wakey and Widnes at home.

If its possible I would recall Cunningham from London and play Heremaia at 7 with Rankin for the rest of the season until we can find a seven we all know we are missing.
Big effort today but Horne is definitely finished as a regular first team player and unless a miracle happens to his play at Doncaster Millar will not make the grade.

This game was there for the taking, Cats were not anywhere near what they were against St's but gash team selection, DH being given time off (or him requesting it..whichever) when this would have given us a shout at least of getting in the top 8..but no we are all happy as pigs in e because we got within a score. That we played like crud for 65 minutes yet again
