Quote hullbg="hullbg"Although they said similar things with his earlier injury. First of all he was pushing to be fit for the week after the injury and the next week etc, after 3 weeks of he maybe ready for the weekend they said he would be out for a further 3 or 4 weeks.
I reckon the 8 week prognosis is a optimistic one at best.'"
The facts with his injury were best put by the specialist who saw him first when he said "Shaun you dont do things by half do you?? its a good one "
So that pretty much sums up where he is at right now! there are no fractures evident up to yet but he is still extremely swollen and in great discomfort which is to be expected and well known by anyone who has suffered the injury!
Luckily there is little evidence yet of damage to the Brachial and he does have hand movement which is superb news although it wont be totally clear till the swelling receeds.
His recouperation will go something like this ...
3/5 weeks in a brace.
following that I would expect up to 8 weeks for the ligament damage , depending on what damage there is to Radial, Ulnar etc etc and at that point a lot depends on Shauns capacity to heal which so far has been no better or worse than anyone else .
The only worry with bad ones is the chance of nerve palsy as you know but it is rare... but with the usual water pressure and whirlpool treatment for this injury he should be ok but i doubt we will see him again this season although I hope i am wrong !
Oh and by the way to put to bed the rumours about why he was given Oxy when led off is nothing to do with his fitness but that he was in shock due to the pain and nothing more...
Sorry if thats long winded!!
