The apologists speak of amazing value of passes, £17 a game, they refuse to acknowledge the £24 gate price.
Do people think passes are not bought so people would rather pay £24 on the gate?
And as for lack of success, people were creaming their kegs saying how good the season was compared to 2009. We have progressed, just a little.
If we had gone backwards i could fully understand a 10% drop in sales.'"
The passes are good value but like you point out £24 is very steep in the first place. People who do not buy a pass will most likely pick and choose games and I don't blame them I know my decision to renew was a very hard one and the deciding factor was wanting to keep my seat.
Those saying we improved greatly are going by league position alone, our style of play for the majority of the season was dire and boring to watch. Also we could hardly have done any worse at the end of the day.

| The financial climate one doesn't wash at all, the recession was in full swing last year and we set a record sales total.
For me it has to be down to poor style of play and lack of faith in the coach, it's been like this for the last 3 seasons but with a combination of good faith from the fans, spin from Jimmy Rule, excuses from Rich Agar and some Marqee signings a high level of interest has been maintained, it was always going to wear thin eventually.
Opinions are divided on whether last season can be considered a significant improvement but the fact is had we won just one of the last three games we played in 2010 then our year would have been considered much more of a success, alas Agar couldn't manage it.

Maybe they've all just been thinking about games like the debacle at wakefield

6, No backup halfback for the umpteenth year running'"
Spot on, but will the club take notice?

| They seem to have taken notice already since they put this promo on, but I reckon they'd need to be down by at the very least a thousand when the deadline comes for it to affect how the board see Agar's position.

many who choose not to buy a pass will just pay on the day for the big games against Leeds, Rovers, Saints etc and miss the rest/watch on SKY. And will still save money over buying a pass.
I have a pass for next season, but to be honest I'm not that bothered if I miss some of the dreary games against Quins, Salford, Crusaders etc. The main factor in me getting a pass this season was losing the central East Stand seats we have had for years, and not wanting to lose such a good view.
yes the season was better than 2009, but it could have hardly sunk lower. It was an average and forgettable season for me. We did better in the regular rounds (particularly at home) but in all of the 'big' games towards the end of the season we flopped.

| Myself and five pals have renewed once again this year. We have over 100 years of loyal support under our belts but we have all agreed that the only reason we have renewed our passes is because we didnt want to lose the seats we have and the convenience of being able to arrive at five to eight and walk straight into our seats. None of us enjoyed last season very much (apart from the comeback against Sts and the first KC derby), neither are we enthusiastic about next season. All around our seats, the majority of people share the same view and will no doubt renew their passes for the same reasons. At the end of the day, the club won't mind too much about the reasons why fans renew so long as they do so but there doesnt seem to have been much discussion about why the club really made east stand all reserved.
If they didnt- and with lower pass sales leading to more empty East stand seats - then people like me and my mates could choose to renege on a pass and pay on the day (we all miss a couple of games each season due to work/hols etc so the discount isnt an incentive). Once that happens, a tipping point is reached when there is no advantage to getting a season pass other than the saving but - as one poster has already stated - take out the rubbish games against the likes of Salford, Wakey, Crusaders etc and the casual fan has saved their money already!
The onyl way to boost sales again for 2012 is to give the fans some hope that the team will go better on the pitch and no marquee signing can do that now. Only ridding us of Agar can do that
