Although they said similar things with his earlier injury. First of all he was pushing to be fit for the week after the injury and the next week etc, after 3 weeks of he maybe ready for the weekend they said he would be out for a further 3 or 4 weeks.
I reckon the 8 week prognosis is a optimistic one at best.

| i just hope berrigan can do a good job at scrum-half, i don't expect to see Longy back this season either
on a different note, i don't think we have seen Berro play @ 7 in the new look hull team. with a pack as good as ours he may have more success than he did last times he played there

The facts with his injury were best put by the specialist who saw him first when he said "Shaun you dont do things by half do you?? its a good one "
So that pretty much sums up where he is at right now! there are no fractures evident up to yet but he is still extremely swollen and in great discomfort which is to be expected and well known by anyone who has suffered the injury!
Luckily there is little evidence yet of damage to the Brachial and he does have hand movement which is superb news although it wont be totally clear till the swelling receeds.
His recouperation will go something like this ...
3/5 weeks in a brace.
following that I would expect up to 8 weeks for the ligament damage , depending on what damage there is to Radial, Ulnar etc etc and at that point a lot depends on Shauns capacity to heal which so far has been no better or worse than anyone else .
The only worry with bad ones is the chance of nerve palsy as you know but it is rare... but with the usual water pressure and whirlpool treatment for this injury he should be ok but i doubt we will see him again this season although I hope i am wrong !
Oh and by the way to put to bed the rumours about why he was given Oxy when led off is nothing to do with his fitness but that he was in shock due to the pain and nothing more...
Sorry if thats long winded!!

| Back for play-off's at least just depends how good the physio goes. Im pretty adamant that he'll be as determined as anyone else to get him back before.

I think it will be a mix of SB, RH,JT, depending on who we play to be honest , However Sahun is the correct choice as he has international exp in that role!! and RH has proven over and over he is better used as a first reciever!
A little while ago I said that things were looking good due to returning players and they went well but i did air the warning of injuries always crop up and they have done and unfortunately again we are without two huge star performers but look through SL so is everyone else .. you see its easy for some to say buy this player and that player or grab him on loan or this other one on loan however it does sometimes seem that some posters do think that every player has a destiny to play in East Yorkshire!! and that we have a magic salary cap above anyone elses which sadly just does not exist

| i know what you mean and i can't see us signing another player on loan this season
like i say, just hope Berro can do a good job there. with tansey coming into attack from FB we are at least better equipped than last season
last time i saw rich horne play before injury, he seemed to be getting his edge back so fingers crossed

SB has issues at present as everyone clearly knows but he has never let us down either and he is an acomplished SH if needed , never a SL but good to go!
As for RH I do baulk sometimes at the "get rid" gang who want to loose one of our better players like RH as if there are queues of better players out there !!
RH is on his day still as good as anything in SL but recently we have only witnessed the RH that is trying to play , lead and be creative all at once which simply isnt his game, he is a runner and short kicker but a damned good one at that , and I must add when he has the freedom he still makes defences stand off him as they know what he is capeable of!!

| I dont like the way the media treat us in this one.
Long is out for 8 weeks, and all you read is "out for the season"
Scruton is out for 10 weeks yet in the media "he'll be back this season"
Do we play less games?

| As I said at the weekend it's a no brainer for me. Berro has to play 7 and Horne to play 6. Leave Tansey where he can operate best with lots of freedom.
If it doesn't work we can also tink around with Tansey at 7 and Whiting at fullback but I am sure Berro and Horne can do the job. It might be just what Berrigan needs to take his mind of other issues and if Horne can find his form from the early part of the season then we should be good to go.
I don't see the need to bring anyone in.
