Great news about Yeaman, we can't afford to lose players like him, one club man!

I am slightly disappointed in some ways as I would have liked to see him go to Leeds or Saints and see how good he could have been, but on a selfish note it's great to keep him.

I think its a bit unfair people saying he hasnt been the same player over the past few seasons, I think that it is simply down to Cooke leaving and the club still not signing a quality replacement. Hes not the most complicated of players, he has great upper body strengh with a good fend and runs good lines, give him something to run on to and he will break the line and score trys, he dosnt have that spark that will create something from nothing with a step or a dummy.

I dont think he will ever realise his potential here for the reasons above, but that said he strike rate is still good over the past three seasons, Im quite surprised though that he hasnt moved on to try and make another go of his international career, he has missed his last chance in my opinion by signing a three year deal, will only benifit us though.

Another average player in an average team IMO. Personally I wouldnt have been concerned if he wasnt re-signed.

Dont get how Leeds or Rovers could of been interested as surely that would of been tapping him up illegally or are Hull FC talking rubbish to cover their own position?

Lots of clubs allow players to have early tentative conversations with other clubs to help gauge their market worth.

Great news about Yeaman been one of our best players this year both in defence and attack, despite what some of the d**ks on here say he is a very important signing for us.

So just because some people have questioned Kirk's overall performance for the past couple of years and don't agree with, thay are d**ks. icon_twisted.gif

Maybe you should take a closer look at home icon_moon.gif

I agree he's a very good and underated player. If he had played for Leeds or Saints he would have been an automatic selection for internationals. He's suffered alot because of players around him but still always performs strong for me, and the critisism he receives is bemusing sometimes.

The d**ks I mean are the ones that want rid of Yeaman but want to keep below average players like Hall. Kirk has a fantastic tryscoring record and for a team that has lacked any attacking ideas in the previous two seasons he still manages to score regular.

Over the period 2007 to 2009, Hall and Yeaman have scored the same total number of tries. Hall has done it in many fewer games.

So far this season Hall is one try ahead of Yeaman despite playing most games on the wing.

In short, Hall's try scoring record is actually significantly better than Yeaman's since he came into the side.

Hall has problems. Scoring tries isn't one of them.

All you seem to have done with your reply is further prove to me that you simply assume people are d**ks just because they have a differing opinion to yours, which seems strange to say the least.

As I have said previously, I have nothing against Kirk, but he has been nothing other than average for the past couple of seasons, so I am very surprised at the length of the contract that was offered. If he had been an overseas player people would be calling for Rule and Agar's head, but because he is from Hull people seem to think it is acceptable to sign an average player to a 3 year contract.

I see Kirk's career heading in the exact same direction as Paul King's, only without the off field issues, ie had the ability to be a regular international player, but never fulfilled his potential. I hope Kirk proves me wrong over the next 3 years, but I doubt it.
