| The only positive I can see with you signing Calderwood is that you're not using up a quota spot on a winger.
He's been pretty poor recently and with no service to your wingers anyway I can't see him getting any better. You have to wonder what's drawn Agar's attention to him in the first place. Is it the 2 tries he's scored this year, his ex-international status or the fact that he's out of contract and available?

More than likely because we need a winger to replace Sing who is off qouta....no one (IMO) fits that bill better than Calderwood who is out of contract. Add to that that his try scoring record is good even at Wigan, almost one in two games ratio, we need pace and we he is at a good age (26) i cannot understand why people would suggest he isn't a good signing for the club

| Having thought more about it I believe he is a reasonable signing, he has pace and is not on the quota, and he is still young at 25, a return to this side of the penines obviously suits him.
As long as he works hard then he'll do for me.
I'd be interested to know who the doubters think we should have had instead?

27 mate. He will be the fastest player at the club and chases down kicks well, also defends well from marker and contests a high ball well in attack. Also has bags of experience so for me its good business.

hall -hes a
briscoe - hes a
buchanan - would be alright as 3rd choice winger
some young kid at doncaster - would be alright as 3rd choice winger
worrincy - been and gone.
for some reason they've been ignored and we've got calderwood!

Why who would be? Hall or Briscoe possibly. Either way our squad is not exactly brimming with pace and when Briscoe and Hall make a break they normally have to sprint all the way to the line whereas Calderwood seems to just leave people behind.

Briscoe is pacey but i remember Raynor chasing Calderwood down a few years ago.
