Not for the season being "disastrous" - Pearson has praised Gentle on a "good job" this season and last, in rltoday's HDMrl.
Quote: Anakin Skywalker "He's progressed this club on and off the pitch and with two top-six finishes and a cup final appearance, that is a good job.'"
Honestly, Darth, I've told you before not to leap into the breach faster than the speed of light without checking your facts first. Silly ogr... I mean onion.

Try again.
Find me one single mention, or even a hint of a mention, of this season being a 'disaster'.
I'll wait. Take your time.

Hilarious, isn't it?
"Well you might have had a better season than we did; and you might have beaten us two out of three in the derby games; but you don't think this is good enough and so your season must have been a disaster."

| They are over the moon as they've had a successful season - made 8th and won a derby. It could have been a win and a draw, of course, if it hadn't been for that nasty Mr Ganson but at least they don't bang on about that.

| Quote: barham red "I think you’ll struggle to find anywhere I stated anything in your insightful post was inaccurate. I do on the other hand think that you maybe need to look at your chairmans motives for the action he’s taken and indeed his understanding of the game as a whole.
He seems to be unhappy with his appointed coach actually achieving what he was set out to do, challenge for trophies, this is compounded by the follow on decision to throw the baby out with the bath water by sacking him and appointing a coach with little experience in the role and announcing him as if his role is going to be the clubs bouncer.
He has seen the way the top clubs have worked the succession model and adopted that, in its own right probably the way to go but he has completely ignored the years of hard work that have gone into these clubs prior to getting to the point where an assistant can step into the breach and just need to carry on steering the ship. These clubs have had experienced coaches build a base and team structure that becomes ingrained into the club and is the essential ground work required for a successful club.
It seems to me Mr Pearson is becoming disillusioned (or frustrated) with RL and is now resorting to knee jerk decisions that seem to be based on either his limited knowledge of the game or poor advise from who knows where. The end point of this will be that he will do what he has done in most of his football appointment and he’ll walk away, I’d be surprised if he’s there in 5 years time.
You seem to be relishing that fact that we are losing players, yet the same could be said for yourselves. Under the Pearsons regime alone you have lost Manu, Moa, Turner, Briscoe x 2, Tickle to name but a few and have recruited players on a downward curve Galea, Ellis and carried on with recruitment of Cas cast offs. You’ve quoted of players wanting out McDonnell, Watts. Watts was a player who couldn’t get in our side, bad attitude and we let him go, now you take these players and wonder why you have a quad with a bad mental attitude, you got what you bought. McDonnell falls into the category your chairman criticised McRae (indirectly) for, overpaying and lack of value for money when you had options in your youth set up who could have done as well (and in Shauls case better). Yes we’ve offered players small contracts, but in honesty that’s all they’re worth. We have better coming through in those postions.
As for my insulation from the fact that you are better than us, I can state I’m not insulated from that fact and to be honest I’m not using your club as a benchmark. Are we progressing as well as I’d like, of course not but on the flip side I think I know our current limitations and understand that these will hinder our short term progress. What I do wonder is how you’ll be insulated from the uncomfortable truth that your not as good as you think you are, and that next year will be worse than this one. I’d expect the first Radford out mumblings by April at the latest.'"
By his own admission, Pearson indicated, he was the only interested party in taking over Hull FC for the last 9 years,
so him walking away after 5 years, is pretty remote. - nobody would buy it.

'" The chairman's motives are to get the club to be more successful than it has been this season. He has had two years to assess Gentle and deemed his tenure an improvement vs Agar, but not up to the standards he himself has set. I'm not convinced you can be confident that AP "has completely ignored" the infrastructure point, that's complete supposition on your part. The progress of our academy indicates that some building blocks have been put in place already. Gentle has improved the first team in some areas, as Pearson has acknowledged. Radford is hardly starting from a base of zero, but AP's judgement is that he can step on what's there already in key areas - responsibility, motivation, consistency - and to provide ultimately a pathway for Andy Last who has already been approached by a couple of clubs above us.

'" I'd agree his knowledge of the game is limited and you do seem fond of predicting the end of his tenure. But the evidence he is disillusioned with the sport after 2 years is somewhat absent. It could be more readily argued that he is taking action precisely because he does care. For disillusionment in the sport, knee-jerkery and abandonment, there seems more evidence the threat is closer for you than us. Has the investment trailed on Radio Humberside and in his programme notes been forthcoming or just disappated, Larvin-style?
Both clubs are losing and recruiting players, that's how it works in the transfer market. The quality overall of the whole competition is being diluted for multiple reasons, and I wouldn't say we are anything other than weaker year on year as it stands. But the reality for you is that your marquee player, Dobson, has chosen to leave before his contract is up. Cory Paterson, a major signing last year, has chosen to leave before his contract is up. Liam Watts chose to leave before his contract was up. You're reported to be looking to bin off Hall and/or Caro and/or Tuimarvarve and/or Lovegrove before their contracts are up. Odds on Weyman, Keating and Costigan all completing in full their deals are probably quite long, therefore, and confidence in recruitment strategy less than solid.
Quote: barham red "Yes we’ve offered players small contracts, but in honesty that’s all they’re worth. We have better coming through in those postions. '" Perhaps, and I agree it's good to be positive in the absence of any compelling evidence other than Sandercock's alleged reputation in developing individual players. Unfortunately for all the hype about this, I don't see a step change in your pipeline of talent breaking through in a Crooks/Lineham/Shaul way, moreover the stagnation of players like Dobson, Horne and Lovegrove. The transformations Sandercock was supposed to have introduced 2 years ago to improve every individual player has been less than a resounding success. Where are your Dream Team players?
Quote: barham red "As for my insulation from the fact that you are better than us, I can state I’m not insulated from that fact.'" Quite right, chief. We're top dogs in the RL metropolis of KuH. Again.

I’d expect the first Radford out mumblings by April at the latest.'" Why are you not progressing as well as you'd like? Let's not forget, last year your CEO stated you'd finish 4th. Hudgell bragged you were the best team in the city and were now hunting down Leeds for the best team in Yorkshire title. You're happy to call out AP for ambition that's not fulfilled, yet Hudgell is immune from the same. In fact the slide into comfortably low expectations sits surprisingly well.
I don't think we're that good. 6th is about right. An acceptable return for me next year would be 5th and a playoff win without being tted. I doubt AP will be happy with that, but who knows? We need some more signings, but I'm looking forward to seeing a harsher regime tbh. Some of our players are a bit princessy for mine, and losing Ogre is a hammer blow in this respect. Radford might be just what we need. I'm certainly more confident he'll man up if he doesn't deliver rather than bleating about injuries, playing teams full of internationals every week and short turnarounds. FC were criticised by Rovers fans in the past for having an excuses culture. The boot really couldn't be more on the other foot now.

| You Hull Fans think your team is better than you actually are? The hudds game proves this, your halfbacks are vastly overrated and your experienced big players are on the way out, I'm sorry but your no where near top four at this moment in time, and your going to be very frustrated next year when things don't all go your way and believe me in a relegation year they WON'T!

Strang, but I never saw you come and comment on here, before you had money and your chairman bought half the leagues overseas players and the OAP club, I bet you anything you want you will be nearer to relagation than us this year.
I looked at your forum the other day and even your fellow fans are embarrassed by you. Worry about your own club, and dream if a time you get to wembley and finish as high as 6th.

Im not bothered about money and nor am i trying to create competition or make stupid bets. and im not the one who's deluded thinking your going to finish top four, aslong as we challenge for a top 8 place then ill be happy, but you lot really are deluded if you think your going to be challenging Leeds, saints Wigan or Warrington, SL this year has been shockingly weak with Salfords (patched up academy side) Londons shockingly weak team Castleford bad half of the season and the financial ruin of Wakefield cut short their season, getting to the ccf is just papering over the cracks at HULL FC but that's just my opinion.
