| Quote: GM1 "Good post...... That is because Radford still has no clue who his best players are, and without a settled squad/13, there is no chance of the combos you speak of ever becoming 2nd nature to the player.
To me it seems that as soon as a player, who is not Radford's mate or purchase, has a bad game or speaks out of turn in class, he is dropped. I'm not saying let players continually perform crap or get away with murder, but we need to have a settled squad for anything to happen on the pitch.
All about man management and I feel that Radford has none.'"
Can't argue with that. We should have had a settled squad long before now... and we're still waiting!

| It's the FC cokey,
You put your scrum half in, your scrum half out, in out, in out and then you scream and shout
You do the FC cokey then you're going down and that's what it's all about

| it has been said before but if we change the coach we must use the opportunity to let the new man bring in his own staff, and also recruit personnel with no previous ties to the club. the time has surely come to sever the ties to the past. we can move forward with a more talented and experienced set up who carry no FC baggage. it will cost money but as this season has shown, you tend to get what you pay for.
the main problem is that pearson has nobody to show him how to go about this

| Our league campaigns since 2007 have been consistently poor no matter who the coach or players are. Fans patience has slowly been erased each and every season by promises not kept and potential not reached. That's why now you are getting fans either losing all interest and abandoning the club, or diehard fans who have become overly negative and cynical. I think most people have reached this point which is why there are a lot of knee jerk reactions to individual games. A lot of fans believe that Radford is not the correct man for the job, myself included, but I hope like mad that he proves me wrong in the long term. If we only have one positive to take from the past few seasons, it's evident our youth structures and pathways are working and that we have a coach giving them every opportunity to replace the senior players who have underachieved in the past. We also have an owner who has invested heavily and is passionate as we are about the club. We do have some good players at this club, and some great ones coming through. I don't think we are as far away as it seems at the moment, we just have a few key areas in recruitment to address and need to show the door to some poor players as well as great servants to the club who unfortunately no longer cut the mustard to take us to the next level.

Agree on this. Some will argue that it doesn't fit with the "Club Hull" philosophy that Pearson spoke about but I think that should only apply to the playing staff, not the coaches. The club needs an backroom staff based on their quality not their location.

| lets be honest, does the "local players" thing even matter, what matters is winning, I don't care if we have nobody born in a Hull & East Riding maternity ward if we're competing for the playoffs. Sentiment has no place in professional sport.

In general it doesn't and is a nice to have. However, in RL, you need homegrown from a financial (and quota rule thingy?) point of view, so we do need to keep it up
(I do agree in your sentiment)

I agree, in part, but home grown doesn't mean a HU postcode, Aussies are not (or should not be) the answer.
If we had a team of 17 from Aberdeen but won the CC/League and WCC I would happily become an honorary Scot!
