| Just shows the moaning culture on this board, all season people have moaned about mediocrity and average players, we officially release 4 of the most average players we have (although I do think Lauaki will go well at Wigan because they'll use him properly) and people are still complaining. Dowes and Washy would struggle to make the grade at any club that finished higher than us and Phelps always knew he was here for just a year, especially after we signed McKinnon. AP has got the club going forward in ways others haven't seen before so now people on this board are just finding stupid things to moan about.

| At the beginning of last season, I'd see Lauaki named on the bench and look forward to seeing him come on to smash about the opposition. Even if he did go mental on occasion, he was entertaining.
When he was used on the outside, running channels against centres/2nd rows, he looked pretty good. He has a fairly good pair of hands for a forward too, but was never required to use them whilst being a battering ram up the middle.
I'm disapointed that we didn't get the best out of him whilst he was here, and that his best assets seemed to be coached out of him. Suppose that's more Agar's fault than his.

I don't think he's as bad as some make out - which is why I put 'rubbish' in quote marks in my reply - but overall he has been disappointing IMO. Especially given that he's shown signs of being able to produce better performances from time to time. My point was more that even the top teams occasionally sign players that aren't that good, so his deal at Wigan (if it happens) doesn't really prove anything one way or the other regarding his quality.

Ah right, he has been disappointing but a large proportion of the blame goes to Agar who has not used him correctly imo.

I think a large proportion of the blame lies at the door of the RFL and their presumptive refs. As someone said before, his Wigan shirt should protect him from the condemnation without evidence displayed towards him by the officials. His Hull shirt, of course, merely acted as the proverbial black and white flag to the bull.

You raise a good valid point, maybe due to his attention from the refs he was coached to tame it down...madness for years we have screamed for a player like Hame then Agar got his hands on him

Ok then he is bloody so awful to watch and his workrate is naff.Don't you just hate it when he runs the ball in and stops and turns even before he hits the defence line.Sorry to be blunt but he is just a big pudding imo and we can replace him with alot better.

Clearly we view things very differently......you do realise good props turn in the tackle A/ to find the off load and B/ it is more difficult for the opposition to put them on their backs which then slows down the ptb!
His workrate has not been the best no where near the high standards set by Fitz & O'Meley who both incidentally play a lot more minutes, but Hame has broken a lot more tackles than both Fitz & O'Meley
Now personally I want big tackle busting forwards.

Thats the thing thou.He turns to early without a finger placed on him when he should be hitting the line at speed, commiting defenders and then getting his nose though to off load the ball which he rarely does.I really think he has gone backwards in the nearly 3 years he has been at Hull.

| I just don't buy into this 'Lauaki's crap because of Agar' line.
He's an average player at best. He was an average player in the NRL, and was still average over here.
He used to be a hot head penalty machine but still average and now he's calmed down a bit, he's just average.
If Wigan think they can make him above average, then fairplay to them but I don't think they will.
His ability (or lack of it) is nowt to do with Agar though.

I never saw him stop last night when ran hard at the defenders and attracted the defenders in and made some good yards. I think you are missing my point here Hame has broken more tackles than all our forwards including Moa (about 10 more than Moa), who is good a breaking tackles but clearly not as good as Hame. Agar should have used this sheer brute strength and played him out wide, he would have rolled many a centre. He has gone backwards because we have failed to utilise his true potential, he also has very good hands which he has displayed on several occasions.

He has never been a penalty machine, check his stats, in 2010 he only conceded 2 more than Radders, this year he has only conceded 2 more than O'Meley
