| Quote: Standee "I have no doubt that the club have had their current documentation checked, but that would be their agreement with the landlord at the time, IF the sale went ahead it would depend on how the transfer of the title was managed, there are ways that any new owner could seek to change the agreement.
But, we must ask ourselves this, even IF the Allams did buy the KC, would they really want to kick out (or make it untennable) for an existing cornerstone tenant (let's not forget that FC's participation was an explicit condition of the whole project getting the go ahead in the first place), as I have said on another thread, where would the Allams raise £80m (which is what they would need), secure against their own personal fortune?
IF, and it's a big IF, they wanted to invest in excess of £100m in a football club, regardless of sentiment, they would not have bought Hull City.'"
Hull FC has a lease and I'm sure the club had legal advice at the time it signed the lease.
The terms of the lease cannot be changed without the club's agreement. Anyone who buys the stadium buys it subject to our lease. Its basic property law.
Also, as Standee implies, if the Allams do buy the stadium, why should they want to deprive themselves of the income streams (rent, food and drink sales etc) generated by Hull FC?

| Quote: Zebra "You mean second division team gets more for visits of second division teams than 2 top flight clubs get for visit of 2 other top flight teams?
Get City back in the Premier League with an extended stadium and then see as on occasion they had 20,000 more applications for tickets than were available. There was a good article by Trevor Larson, a councillor at the time and involved in the project called "The Green, Green Grass" or something similar. There was a link on Hull City Online at one time but the site has changed since then so I don't know if it is still available.
He had some interesting things to say. Was scathing about the HDM and their negativity.
Apparently Brooking, when asked why 15,000 was enough for Hull but Middlesbrough and Sunderland had just built larger stadiums, was completely unaware that Middlesbrough is half the size of Hull and Sunderland is smaller. Another example of lack of awareness of this city by outsiders. Funniest bit was when a councillor asked Brooking if he didn't remember the last time he had played in Hull? "There was 32,000 there. You lost". There were some very interesting figures about what funding had gone to Sheffield and Leeds and other West Riding based organisations compared to the lack of the same to the East Riding.'"
excellent thank you pal

And this city has produced a full 11 man premiership winning England team then?

Indeed, was in someone's sig. The quote from Paintboy/GML was along the lines of: "I hate them (FC) to such an extent that I hope they go bust and are never seen or heard from again".

MOST people believe the cash-strapped city council should 'cash in' and sell the KC Stadium, according to the results of a Mail poll.
As exclusively revealed in the Mail this week, Assem and Ehab Allam – the new owners of Hull City – wish to buy the stadium from the council.
Up to 1,400 council workers face losing their jobs as decision-makers in the Guildhall set about making £50 million savings.
Of the 2,054 people who took part in our poll, 57 per cent thought the stadium – built in 2002 at a cost of £46m – should be sold.
Another 37 per cent voted for the stadium to be kept in council hands, with the rest indicating they had a divided opinion.
Council leader Carl Minns has previously told the Mail he would be open for talks with the Allams, who he describes as "serious players".
Most comments posted on the Mail's website were largely in favour of the council selling the stadium to the Allams.
One message, posted by Anlaby Tiger, said: "If the Allams buy the KC, develop it as a genuine commercial venture, not some poorly-run community centre, than it will only be good news for the city."
The Allams, who own a Melton-based marine manufacturing company, completed the £40 million takeover of Hull City before Christmas.
The father and son, who have made no secret of their long-term desire to increase the stadium's seating capacity from 25,000 to 38,000, say they "require ownership of the stadium".
Following the Mail's front page story revealing the Allams' desire to buy the stadium, Ehab moved quickly to reassure Hull FC fans, insisting they had nothing to fear.
Hull City would continue to share the ground with the Super League side, he said in a statement.
Pete Allen, spokesman for Hull FC Voices, a community group that represents the views of fans, said its followers' minds have been put at rest.
Mr Allen said: "What the Allams have done for Hull City and this city as a whole is amazing.
"It's good for local people to own sports clubs and I am all for it.
"But as a Hull FC fan I would prefer the stadium to be owned by the council and controlled, neutrally, by the Stadium Management Company. The current system works."

Also to be fair to the Allams I believe if it was possible they would just fund the extension.(but due to it being a public building the issues would become a nightmare. They do seem to want to give something back to the city's people and see this as a way of doing that. I don't see the concern with this as I would with the southern tw@s that have tried the get rich quick scheme with our sporting clubs. They may even realise that if we where attracting larger gates then they would rake in more from beer sales etc so may offer the club a better deal. its all ifs and buts really but they have risked a large personal fotune on bailing out the football team and if reports are correct they have family that are actually FC passholders.

If you could lift the top of your head up, would butterflies and bluebirds flutter out of it?

| If the stadium was sold, what amount do you think it would be sold for and what would be allowable for the money to be spent on. I assume that a large majority of those in the HDM poll wouldn't know one way or the other (as in they may think it could be used wholly to get the HCC out of the quag financially)

Indeed, and giving some of the, shall we say, "questionable" decisions Minge and his lot have made maybe the HDM should have asked a different question.
"Do you think Hull City Council should sell the KC Stadium, and do you trust them to invest or spend the money wisely on behalf of the people of Hull?"
