hang on - who brought him in as a project? Who saw the potential, who has brought him on? Don't tell me, if it's positive it's nothing to do with Agar - only the bad things are down to him. Hull can't keep everyone.

Fair enough, but who brought him half way round the world, stuck him on for 15 minutes when he'd only just collected his bags, then decided he wasn't ready and dumped him in the reserves?
Who only got round to playing him again when three of our first choice props were injured?
Hmmm.......

I know - I saw the same as you. But it proves (as did sending Hall for first-team experience at Widnes) that Agar is doing something right... when Moa had to play, he was ready. Whether he was ready before we will never know but he is definitely ready now.

Yer and by the time Moa had chance (by luck or by design) to prove he's a successful project and worthy of a long-term deal it's too late because Agar couldn't wait to sign up an ageing Aussie who had just sustained a season-ending injury.

You're wasting your time Junior, we all know Downtheante is an Agar lover. Is he John Sharpe in disguise?

Look I realise Agar is in league with the Taliban, but I'm just not sure that everything else in the whole-wide-world is his fault. I will be just as happy to see Agar go if I feel I have seen him fail with a fit, dedicated squad. What I don't want to see is another coach brought in and thrown out within two seasons, knocking us back even further while the whole infrastructure around him changes. I ask you to look back at how long it took Alex Ferguson to have success with Manchester United. He took them on in 1986. In 1989, a banner at Old Trafford read "three years of excuses and it's still crap. Ta ra Fergie" - many supporters called for his head. They won the FA Cup in 1990 and then the league in 1993. So his first silverware was after 3-4 years. Do you think the club and Fergie took the blindest bit of notice of the fans or do you think they stuck to their vision of aiming to be the most successful club in footballing history?

They were 1 defeat away from sacking him. A young Mark Robbins saved his bacon. Please dont tell me you just compared probably the most sucessful manager in history with Richard Agar?
I can the similarites in the situation in that the first thing Fergie had to do when he took over at Utd was get rid of all the heads but I dont see Agar as having a strong enough personality to get the rest of the squad to believe in him and his tactics. Time will tell I suppose.

Firstly: Why shouldn't I compare him to Fergie. For all we know, in 10 years time we'll have won the Grand Final several times and the Challenge Cup the same. If Man U had sacked Fergie I wouldn't even have been able to draw the comparison.
Secondly: I don't know how I keep getting caught up in defending Agar. I'm not a fan of his - it just gets a bit boring when every thread turns into an Agar-hating one. It's really eay to drop a glib comment into every thread saying "of course Agar will get rid of him" or "Agar was probably busy blaming the supporters". Even after this Saturday, when no-one had mentioned that the loss to Rovers was his fault, a thread started specifically to start the baiting up once again.

No, he's just a sh! t rugby coach.
And your comparison of Agar with Sir Alex is laughable for many reasons but most of all because Sir Alex had already broken the Old Firm's stranglehold in Scotland with Aberdeen, and won a european cup with them! This proved he was capable of achieving things as a manager, Agar has no such track record and was completely unqualified to get the job in the first place.]

I don't know if Agar signed him up or the Board. Do you? And anyway, there are plenty of people on here who have defended that particular action in other threads because they rate Cusack. Note, I didn't say wehther I rate Cusack or not - just that plenty on here do.
