Did gale have two spells with us then?'"
Yes he signed for the 87/88 season but suffered with injuries (not just a modern day problem for Hull ) and returned around 1992 for a season.

Didn't realise, I got my first season pass in 92. How did his first spell go? Injuries excepted.

Didnt see much of him at all due to injury (think it was his shoulder that was the problem).
At the time I think it is fair to say we struggled with flair and pace out in the backs and Scott Gale was meant to bring just that. With the glory years behind us it wasnt the best of years on the pitch and the rugby was hardly entertaining.
It wasnt until Brian Smith got hold of us in 1988 that a decent side came together though we still had no real pace or flair in the backs but always a pretty tough pack and some decent half backs!

| Scott gale was a very talented player but like knocker says we never got to see his skills that much because of injuries . There was a clip of him on youtube scoring a cracking try for Balmain (Even better than the Bosc chipover try). Sadly , He's no longer with us.

Rogers didnt even see the hit coming as he raced through a pack of players thinking he was about to hit open space! Great hit.

Scott was a great player, such a shame we never saw the best of him.
As you say, he sadly passed away in 2004 at the age of 39.

| Quote: B0NES "I remember the night when Coleman and Pearce systematically dismantled the worlds best team at Central park during that season . Great night.'"
Certainly was, one of those mid-week away games which of course we no longer have. The team that year were just beginning to really motor but still no-one gave us a prayer against a Wigan side in its pomp.
The pack laid the platform (as they did throughout the season) allowing Coleman and Pearce to wreak havoc. There was one try in particular when they combined to create a gap wider than the M62 to send the full-back (Paul Fletcher?) racing under the posts without a Wigan player within 30 yards of him. I remember Hanley & Gregory both staring at each other wondering what on earth was going on.

| For me it has to be Sterling without any doubt. Yes, he was only here for a short while but he amazed in every game he played. The bloke was a genius of the sport.
In the forwards, I think Muggleton. For a second rower he had everything you could ask for.
In the more modern era it is Swain for me no doubt.

Think that was Will Robinson. Great quote though.
