| Quote: Irregular Hoops "Anyone who had any doubt about his future got the answer today after witnessing Manu's performance & body language.
I'd like him to stay, but to be honest I'm not averse to taking the salary cap space & getting a decent number 6.
PG & SM must have enough contacts in the game to source some decent replacements for Manu & Moa.'"
Is Moa going? I can see him extending his contract.
Thought Manu did ok today, not great, but ok. Did a couple of good offloads and a couple decent runs. Didn't see any negative body language, saw him talking to Lauaki at the end then clapping the fans afterwards.

As much as he behaves like a knob your right he is the best 6 in the comp and would improve us massively.
As for Manu the fact he wasn't his usual brilliant self today does not mean he played badly at all. Why do people allow things away from the pitch cloud their view on what actually happens? Some of the dumbass comments I hear from our fans at games makes me cringe.

Big club. In that case I can see us announcing a NRL prop to come over soon after Manu declines/signs for Saints.

| Never bought into the whole thing about players not giving 100% because they're moving club.
As it stands, Manu is a Hull FC player. Even if he has already signed with Saints, Manu will be playing for Hull FC until next season.
Why would he not want to win? No matter who he is playing for or who he is signing for, the guy is going to want to win games with his current team. He's not going to sit at home and say "Oh we'll, I'll be with Saints next year so I aren't bothered about playing well for Hull and if we don't win games or make finals I couldn't care less". He's still going to be giving his best efforts every single week.

| Interview with McRae tonight,
We've been in negotiations regarding a new contract with Manu for 2 months, still no resolution.
McRae added, it will be sorted later this week.

Wonder if Hull will withdraw the offer if it isn't signed by the end of the week.

Why not? If he wants to stay he'll sign. If he doesn't then let him go and start looking for his replacement sooner rather than later.

Absolutely gutted if that's true. I think he could be one of the best props in Super League for a decade if he stayed. As for Manu, I think it will take at least 2 seasons for us to assemble a squad capable of winning things, and I don't see Manu being the same player in 2 years time. So good luck to him, and I hope he wins some silverware before he retires. Losing players like Moa and Turner is a much bigger blow in the grand scheme of things.

| I didn't want to see us lose Manu, Turner or Moa but it looks like they've all decided to be elsewhere next season. Our recruitment for 2013 is now going to have to be much bigger than I envisaged and is starting to look more like another clear-out.
I just don't see how we can find enough quality players that will be available and affordable under the cap. The new regime have certainly got their work cut out if we're to have much more than another season of "transition".
Let's hope that AP, SM and PG have their hats full of rabbits!

Turner, Moa, Manu, Martin, Ogre, Ellis, Wade?
That's a lot of recruiting.
So far Johnson, Crookes and Arundel.

Not sure the recruitment is as good as what we are losing so far tbh, hopefully a bit more quality to come

Missed Elis off that list. Hope Briscoe see's his contract out. Johnson may replace O'carroll, heard he may go depending on injuries?

There really seems to be a lot going, far more than I anticipated. Not too concerned about Ellis hopefully he will kick on with his development more with a team like Cas, however I hope we are bringing in a 6 then as losing Ellis will leave us with limited options in cover, Nicklas has a way to go imo.
I hope Briscoe stays as he will take some replacing, O'Caroll is cracking on the pitch but the injury situation is a worry but we have some good lads coming through in that area so not too concerned. Replacing Moa & O'meley is a big concern, basically it will resemble a new team next year, bit of a concern all this really.
