| Would Tony go after Leeming if he’s fell out with Rohan?
Didn’t Leeming leave the Giants under a cloud as well?
Always thought this was a year we just had to get through. TS would have been looking at next season when he got appointed, as this mob cant play how he wants them to.

I might be an odd one out here but I'd actually be underwhelmed if we signed Leeming as I don't think he would be much of an improvement, granted he can put in decent performances but he also puts in a fair amount of anonymous performances too. It would also seem he's not the ideal type of team player we need attitude wise judging by his Leeds exit.
As you say we all knew this was most likely a season we would have to get through before any real and substantial changes were made to the playing group. Think TS will have certainly seen enough to know that a great number are just not able cut it for whatever reasons despite giving them all a clean slate. get the impression a few have already retired in their minds and others know they will be leaving at the seasons end.
Wonder if Wakey are still in a generous mood and would be willing to do another swap deal this week, Evans for Whitbread or Lovodua for Tanginoa or both

| Quote: Chris71 "To be honest I'm in two minds whilst on the one hand I agree that as he has contract he has a right to see this out yet on the other I can see the clubs position. Personally think Houghton should have been honest with himself and the club and not taken up the option of another year as he sadly is just not up to it anymore. Whoever at the club allowed the situation that an aging player had an option in their favour rather than the clubs in the first place wants to be removed from all further and future recruitment.'"

Ashworth was supposed to be class but has stagnated a bit and hopefully a move will bring best out of him.
Issue with wheeler dealing is we have to have players the other team wants and most of our on contract players I’d want to keep around
I’m just not sure if we have the financial power to bring players over from NRL and reserve grade is a risk.
I’d actually be pretty happy with bell I think. Efficient player who st Helen’s fans like'"
There was a rumour that Clark was interesting St Helens but can see Leeming going there if he's only going to the NRL for a year .

I do expect Saints to have a very large chunk of cap available for next year, with Hopoate, Roby, LMS and Mata'utia all expected to be leaving, and further question marks over Ritson, Hurrell, Bell and Norman. We are likely to be after a centre, wing, hooker and prop being the likely areas we look to recruit in (and maybe another backrow).
Bell is okay, full of enthusiasm. Seems very limited in every position other than lock though

| Such a small amount of talent available with everyone buying from the same pool.
Hopefully Smith can be creative.
We just have to hold our nerve and get through this year. At least the never ending jam tomorrow looks more promising with a proven head coach in place finally.

| My one hope is that we sign players who will offer value throughout the whole of their contract. Too often we sign a player at or past their peak and get 1-2 good years out of them before their cap space is wasted.
Hoy & Clifford for example should be better players at the end of their contract than now. I’d rather be concerned about needing to find the cap space to keep them

While we havent recruited well over the years, we arent the hottest club to join, we've not won much over the years have missed the top6 a lot over the years and Hull has a bad reputation as a place to live and is a fair commute from West Yorkshire. We will have to outpay to get anyone with more offers to think about

| I for one, don't care about recruiting quality players, we need people with a quality attitude first.

| I have no idea how true this may or may not be, but I attend the same barber as TS, in Willerby. The proprietor, is Josh Hodgson's best friend and according to him, Hull have some very big investment coming their way in the shape of a local business man, who is massively rich and a hated rival of the MKM group. It was also said that we are safe from relegation, because of the state of Wakefields's pitch and our attendances and the facilities at the stadium. He also said that Pearson has threatened the entire squad with early termination of their contracts, if they repeat their Salford performance and is prepared to back TS all the way. apparently , Hoy is not happy with life in the UK and is mulling over an early release. He also said that Sao has had an offer elsewhere, which he thinks he will accept and that has implications for Satae's renewal. Worrying times but possibly some light at the end of this bleak tunnel. Can see Rovers posting a huge score on Good Friday if we cannot motivate ourselves.

| If Salford can rebuild every other season when their best players get poached by the NRL / top 4 in the super League, then we can do it, need to be ruthless and have a much better scouting system in place than we seem to currently

Possibly some truth in some of that though how much time will tell. As for Hoy he certainly looks like a player that isn't happy currently but that could just be down to playing with a team of lazy ar5ses
