Would be grateful for any tips from our friends down under or anyone who has found cheaper alternatives ?
Thank you in advance.'"

Our issue was transport from the airport to Woolongong when we arrive. Were staying about 10 mins from the ground.
Only four nights in Woolongong then moving to Bondi or Manly for the remainder.'"
train from the airport to Wolli Creek, train from there straight down to the south coast, have a look at the Sydney Trains website for timetables

| Quote: BoothferryBoy "Just back from the RLWC and can't wait to go back for the main event in February.
A great tour with some unbelievable memories but only one minor issue...All beware over zealous security staff in the 'pubs'. Not sure they are used to the boisterous nature of English RL fans and there where consequently one or two unpleasant situations where elderly (50's) fans where ejected with inappropriate force for apparently doing very little. To add salt to the wound on each occasion these fans where arrested once they had been dispatched to the street.
The beer is ridiculously expensive and weak !!'"

| Thank you Jack.
For the record I do understand what a verb is but didn't consider that when Downo used ''glass'' he/she was referring to a hideous form of assault.
oh dear Downo !!

| Sorry, Jack no offence meant by my reply and no offence taken by yours.
A little offended by the ridiculous "glass" comment by Downo though.

| How are people getting from central Sydney to the Anz for the St George game?
seen it written on a few places that transport tickets for more special events there are included in your match ticket, but can't see to find this confirmed anywhere? and then google maps can't seem to find these 'express' trains on the match day, only ones I can find require a few changes.

| According to Andrew Earl at a presentation at the KC just before christmas, your match day ticket allows you free travel on the train that drops you near the stadium, I have no idea if this is correct, just reporting what we were told. We are staying near the rocks area and apparently you can get a ferry across the harbour to get you to the stadium. Never visited Sydney so worst case scenario is we get a taxi.
On an unrelated subject, does anyone know approximately how many we are taking to AUS.

not sure anybody will know with any degree of accuracy until the WIN stadium fills up. certainly don't appear to be 3k seats sold in the hull fc end of that stadium last time i looked though the main stand looks reasonably full, and its difficult to know who will be in there. i would think 1 to 1.5k travelling max and expats/former players and their families already over there

Yep, travel is included in ticket, watch closer to the game & they’ll more than likely announce some express direct trains that go right to the ground from central station or Redfern, they’ll also probably stop at Strathfield on the way, but don’t worry even if you don’t get one of these it’s not too hard to get to the stadium on a regular train, just takes a little bit longer & you have to change to a “sprint train” at Lidcombe

The ferry doesn’t actually just go across the harbour, it goes up the Parramatta river to Homebush, you’d probably get it from Circular Quay which is very close to the Rocks, a taxi would be a bit expensive, look up the ferry timetable or get a bus or cab up to central station & get a train direct to the stadium
