| Although I think it is totally unreasonable to not provide a small number of cash turnstiles, and cannot see how the SMC can refuse to allow Hull FC to spend their own money to provide an alternative at the matches why not provide automatic machines at the stadium and at other points where unreserved tickets can be purchased. The technology must be similar to other machines currently used elsewhere and assistance could be provided at the stadium for the first few games to speed things along a bit.
Oh hold on I am assuming that the SMC have nothing but operational cost saving motives for the decision.

| Quote: steve_norton "I think the club are handling this quite well. They have not been critical of SMC just stated what SMC's aims are and why its doesn't work for us. The obvious, compromise answer is for us to be allowed to sell tickets on match days so by coming out and saying they have asked for permission they put pressure on SMC to say yes. It won't make any difference to SMC's cost saving measures and will show them up for what they are if they now come out and say no.'"
The way AP has responded is the only way he can in order to get the best resolution for us. There's no point in him throwing his toys out as that will only strengthen the position of those who are squeezing us. As fans we have a clear choice of how best to react and I would say do everything to maximise Hull FCs gain whilst minimising Allam's gain.

I believe the user agreement gives the SMC control over all ticketing issues. However if they refuse to agree to a solution proposed by Hull FC which costs the SMC nothing, it will just make them look unreasonable.
The new arrangements are undoubtedly a threat but can possibly be overcome with some more creative ideas fir the sale of tickets on the part of the club. The club may also have to be more flexible in relation to the sale of passes, such as payment by 12 equal monthly instalments.

To who though?
They look bad but theres no come back is there?
I thought the council built a community facility for the benefit of the community and accessable to all

| Sorry I didn't really make it clear but the vending machine suggestion was as an alternative method of providing tickets for both teams at the KC. Obviously there would be a cost to the SMC and the finances would need to be looked at but surely there are more creative ticketing solutions that can take all fans requirements into consideration.

| On the subject of away fans I would suggest that our opponents really push the ticket sales in advance which sees £2 I think, of every away ticket going to the away club. Hull push it and reap a benefit from the away faithful. It's not insurmountable.
Bottom line whichever way we like to look at it is that we play in a modern stadium and it will have modern facilities. Yes RL has more "walk ups" than premiership football. And I emphasise premiership there. You can't tell me that the rest of the football league, rugby union, cricket etc etc have this issue.
It is simply up to the club to be a little creative. City next season all being well will be reliant on walk ups as they lose the glory hunters.
I live near Crawley. You can purchase Crawley Town tickets in my local newsagents. You can also purchase on line. I would suggest if you are on here bleating you are also on line. It really is not difficult.
I am no fan of the fake Dr but come on. The more we whinge as opposed to getting on with it and appearing not to be effected the less fun he has.
Adam is doing things correctly. He has to represent the club and us fans in a dignified way. Some of you on here saying you won't go again because of this policy frankly are not believable. Or simply trolls.

They did, but they didn't want the ongoing responsibility of running and maintaining it. They preferred also not to go with a standard management deal, apparently - to offer the tenant clubs a better deal than would otherwise been possible. Good intention paving, innit?

| You know if all else fails then we could simply have a number of staff members stood around the ground on match day with a bunch of tickets and just buy off them, sometimes the simplest solution is the best.

| City don't even sell out now for some of the less attractive matches and that's with tickets costing much less than against the big clubs. If they get relegated season ticket sales will fall through the floor and they will need walk up support too. Maybe by then, or soon after, they will have an owner who doesn't bear grudges and whom AP can deal with sensibly.

| If Allam sells the club won't he retain control of the SMC?
If so, I can see him squeezing both teams for every penny he can.

| Quote: Kosh "Yes it will. A reduction in income is a reduction in income. Not to mention the fact that fans will learn that coming to the KC is too much of a hassle and more and more will stay away - which given the struggle we have to attract them anyway is unwelcome to say the least.
This is going to hit the club in the pocket no matter how well we do.'"
Playing Thursday and Friday night matches will never attract away fans in any great numbers.
Traditional Sunday afternoon games will always attract more away supporters.

| Most people have computers or smart phones.
The simple way forward here is for the club to have an online ticket purchase facility so that you can just print the ticket from your printer or have the ticket bar code on your mobile device.
Cant be that difficult.

| I have a possible solution, but it still will need some time. The season pass is a smart card with games pre-loaded. Is the way forward to have a scheme where people can buy this smart card for the cost of producing it and then load the games they want to attend onto it by buying games, whether that is online, via an app of in person at one of the retail outlets. Cuts out the iossue of paper tickets and once in place costs the club the same as administering the season pass scheme.
Call it a membership scheme, season pass holders are gold members in that they have their whole season loaded, but it would also allow passholders to start loading cash to pay for their next season's tickets. members without whole seasons loaded could be silver members, but could still load money to be able to download games to the ticket (call it an occasional season pass)
This would allow the club access to their customers and understand who their occasional attenders are.
This would take time, but it would allow for occasional attenders to obtain a card and when they wish to attend load a ticket from homw or at the stadium without too much hassle.

| The Club are producing leaflets and fliers to give out tomorrow about it all I think.
But all the ideas about on line ticket sales, pre loaded smart cards, kiosks selling unreserved tickets and selling them in pubs around the ground that have featured on here are great but the SMC has to give us permission to do that. Its in their gift, they hold the ground certificates and license and are responsible by law for one ticket one seat, so they would have to pull off the tickets in advance for the kiosks and/or they would have to set up an on line booking service.

And if they refuse to give us permission to do any of these things (which would cost it nothing) we'll know its not just about the SMC wanting to cut its costs and there is another agenda.
