He's got some of the biggest legs, he looks solid, and the most important for me, he as a presence and looks to lead by example and looks a top pro. This wasn't his greatest game, but does a job and like I said, I think super league will suit him, a mention for michaels to, not sure what position he was playing, probably 2nd row, but could of been prop ha, not the biggest but put himself about, should be good in the centres

| He'll go well here. Always liked him. One of the honest players who u watch regular n has some quiet games but never what youd call a bad game.
When its wet n boggy early season he'll get stuck in but when its dry he moves well on his feet concidering hes a bit of a unit. Looking forward to seeing him in the black n white

so, more of an honest grafter than genuine talent?
do we really need to pay NRL money for an honest grafter?

thanks, goes some way to answering my question. If he's a talented player then great, am fed up of these journeymen players (regardless of nationality)

hes a bit of both. 250nrl games wouldnt happen if didnt have a bit more about him than graft.
Before his try today slipped a beautiful inside ball to create a break that lead to the position for his try. Game after signing had agreat game that involved a tremendous 40meter break.
Also by all accounts a model pro n with so many young kids about that can only be good

I guess we're signing him for his experience and leadership; a an old head in a fairly young team to help steady the ship

I thought Ellis was the "experience and leadership", along with Yeaman, Pryce, Whiting etc.
I wish, one day, we'd sign someone because they are "a brilliant RL player"

I think the days of brilliant RL players, especially NRL players, coming to Hull are over. Its hard enough to get them to come to Super League and Hull won't be the most attractive proposition.

I think teams like Wigan, Saints, Leeds and Wire will be more attractive than Hull because they are always in the hunt for trophies.

The salary over here compared to what they can earn in the NRL us the main problem. There salary cap has increased massively while ours has stayed the same, plus the poor exchange rate for Aussies.
I reckon our recruitment is about the best in SL so far.
