A few good games in the last 5 years is not good enough. Yeaman is exactly the same. He's coasted for 3 years now.'"
I'd call you dumb but it's not that at all. You simply have an agenda. To the point you cannot see what's in front of you.
Horne WAS a stand out player prior to being injured.
Was coasting the try assists for the whole league, showed a new found kicking game. Was taking the line on and making breaks and was named player of the month by his fellow players and coaches twice out of the first 3months! So was undeniably a stand out.
He is also vastly experienced which baring in mind we'll have 2 21year olds running the team it makes to any normal thinking person sense to have that around. Whilst offering a level of cover and experience at full back and half back that most teams cannot!

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

| Didn't AP say Horne, Yeaman and Biggs were off the cap?
Where's the problem?

Also have you ever seen Rankin play?'"
In simple terms, the players who have been brought in are likely to be on nowhere near on what the players who have left have been on. Just look at your last two signings, Talanoa will be less than half of what Briscoe was earning, same with Rankin and Holdsworth. I'm no accountant but that can't be far off. Yes you have probably upgraded a few contracts, not sure how many have been made official but surely won't have matched anywhere near the money that has been recouped from the new salaries.
As one poster has come out with, you guys are spending £150k legally above the cap which makes you wonder in amazement at who and where all this money is going!!!
No, practically the seen the same clips, reports and news articles that everyone else on here as seen on here.

Pure guess work from start to finish.
How do you know we haven't got back ended contracts?
We've gone from over paying Paea, McDonnell, Ellis to scrimping and saving. Although the money spent on the youth program has gone through the roof were not investing in players? Good one rp, same old .

Lineham went from -20k a year to 70k shaul will have been pretty much the same.
Green similar, or he wouldn't have committed so long, Bowden will have upgraded significantly from his youth deal, Hadley upgraded during the season which will have kicked in by now.
All the young kids in the squad are now all being paid well to keep them. That takes a lot of money, but worth it.
I know what Danny Houghton earns and hull are paying what they need to to build a long term team with the likes of him and these young players. So because we lose Briscoe replace him with a non cap player we have now probably tied 2/3 players to long deals. People say cheap option, I say great business and long term thinking.

Its pretty much been covered by the last two posters, but it's fairly obvious the reasons we are near cap is previous poor recruitment (paying over the odds for players) and upgrade to youth players, players like Lineham and Shaul we have been made good offers by other clubs and if we want to keep them we need to pay them over market value as we cant offer success like Leeds and Wigan.
You do say some stupid things on here, but your comment that Rankin isn't good enough based on newspaper articles and youtube clips is up there with the best of them, he has played 15 more NRL games than when dobson came to SL and he didn't turn out too bad.
You can say a few things about Hull, but cost cutting isn't one of them since AP came in.

You just want us to bring players through and let them go? They've been offered more else where since hence don't be surprised to see upgrades already by end of season

£70k for a winger going into only his second full season is ridiculous, i'd happily see him reach that figure by the end of his contract, but not now. We'll be left in the future with nowhere to go like with Briscoe.
If Shaul and Green are anywhere near £70k, i'd question AP's sanity, or anyone else's who is willing to pay them that much. Only one i'd want near that figure is Crooks.

We had to up Linehams he had an excellent year & nearly every club was after his signature. If a new company put an offer on the table for you to go work for them for an extra 50k a year what would you do? & plus its not a long career rugby league.

| Briscoe went to Leeds for 80k so even though Lineham is potentially a great player 70k seems a lot to me when he has only had 1 season and there is a doubt over his fitness week in week out.
However, if that's what you have to pay to keep the future of Hull FC then so be it

I’m assuming that players wages are not published therefore the £70k for Lineham and £80k for Briscoe is just another set of numbers pulled out of thin air, I would assume the gap between their wages is larger than you’ve stated and one that is more akin to their relative current positions within the game.
There will be a pyramid of wages at Hull that (I would assume) have Ellis and Paea at the top earning the most. The cost and structure of those deals will only be known to a select few and I’m pretty sure they wont be going around telling all and sundry what they are.
One of the main factors why Hull’s squad will look like it’s costing more than its apparent worth is the added cost of attracting players to East Yorkshire, it seems that there will be a £% over what the likes of Leeds or Wigan will have to pay.
The general quality of talent available to the English game is diminishing, you only have to look at the signings across the league this closed season to see that, this will have the knock on effect of increasing the value of less talented players to fill their boots. Can see it being an interesting season for a lot of teams next year, certainly a lot of unknown quantities to take into account.

It is essential that we get our young talent signed up on long term deals.
Other clubs were after Lineham. It was Wigan no less who offered Hull a substantial fee for him. Without a much improved deal we would have lost him.
The same applies to Crooks and Shaul, although I don't see why you think Crooks is worth so much more than Lineham. Shaul should be on a bit less than the other two IMO.
